Dear Players of Grimsby Town FC

I am writing with regard to my absolute astonishment and disbelief as to the sheer magnitude of your complete lack of talent and failure to carry out the job for which you are paid to do. I am not aware of any swear word or other derogatory phrase in my current vocabulary which comes close to a description of your ‘performance’ (and I use that term loosely) this afternoon, but let me just say that you have collectively reached a level of inadequacy and ineptitude that neither I nor modern science had previously considered possible.

In fact I recall a time, in my youth, when I decided to call in sick at work and instead spent the entire day in my one bedroom flat wearing nothing but my underpants, eating toast and wánking furiously over second-rate Scandinavian porn. Yet somehow, I still managed to contribute more to my employer in that one Andrex-filled day than you complete bunch of toss-baskets have contributed to this club in your entire time here.

I would genuinely like to know how you pathetic little píssflaps sleep at night, knowing full well that you have taken my money and that of several thousand others and delivered precisely fúck all in return. I run a business myself, and I believe I could take any 4,000 of my customers at random; burn down their houses, impregnate their wives and then dismember their children before systematically sending them back in the post, limb-by-limb, and still ensure a level of customer satisfaction which exceeds that which I have experienced at Blundell Park at any time so far this season.

You are a total disgrace, not only to your profession, not only to the human race, but to nature itself. This may sound like an exaggeration, but believe me when I say that I have passed kidney stones which have brought me a greater level of pleasure and entertainment than watching each of you worthless excuses for professional footballers attempt to play a game you are clearly incapable of playing, week-in, week-out.

I considered, for a second, that I was perhaps being a little too harsh. But then I recalled that I have blindly given you all the benefit of the doubt for too long now. Yes, for too long you have failed to earn the air you’ve been breathing by offering any kind of tangible quality either as footballers or as people in general. As such, I feel it’s only fair that your supply runs out forthwith.

I trust, at this precise moment in time, that Mr Fenty is in his office tapping away on the Easyjet web site booking you all one-way flights to Zurich, complete with an overnight stay with our cheese eating friends at Dignitas. Don’t bother packing your toothbrush – you won’t need it.

In the event that our beloved chairman can’t afford the expense (understandable given that he’s soon going to have to assemble a new squad from scratch), then I am prepared to sell my family (including my unborn child) to a dubious consortium of Middle Eastern businessmen in order to pay for the flights. Christ, I’ll drive you there myself, one-by one, without sleep, if I have to.

Failing that, understanding that most dubious Middle Eastern businessmen are tied-up purchasing Premier League football clubs, I ask you to please take matters into your hands. Use your imagination, guys – strangle yourselves or cover yourself in tinfoil and take a fork to a nearby plug socket, or something. Just put yourselves and us fans out of our collective misery.

So, in summary, you pack of repugnant, sputum-filled, invertebrate bástards; leave this club now and don’t you fúcking dare look back. You’ve consistently demonstrated less passion and desire than can commonly be found within the contents of a sloth’s scrótum, so frankly you can just all fúck off – don’t pass go, don’t collect your wages, don’t ever come back to this town again.

I look forward to you serving me at my local McDonald’s drive-thru in the near future.

Yours sincerely

Couldn't have put it better myself. Post of the week.

Those were the days, my friend,
We took the Stretford End,
We took the Kop, the Kippax and the Shed,
We lived the life we choose,
We'd fight, we'd never lose,
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days,
Nah nah nah nah nah nah, Town!

Fúck it - it's gone in the post. Taking into account the current state of the postal service the club should receive it shortly before we reach the Unibond Premier.

Yep agree let the young lads have their moment of fame of being on TV and playing at Elland Road, rather pay to see that than go see the excrement that the first team have to offer!

That is totally and utterly BRILLIANT and has cheered my thoroughly miserable night! THANK YOU!!!!
PLEASE, somebody in the halls of GTFC print this off and post it everywhere inside the club. Let's show these pathetic excuses for footballers what we really think of them.

flipping class post, cheered me up to be honest, thought I was the only one who felt like that.

Today was all about professionallism, doing the right things, turn up with the right attitude, play with a good tempo, put in the effort and workrate, do your job and go into the next round. The f**king w@nkers couldn't even manage that, I don't think Bath even had to play that well to beat us.

It just showed what a complete and utter bunch of t*ssers we have as players, they don't want to play for us, they don't want to play for the shirt, they don't want to play for the manager and they don't want to play for themselves. Absolute spineless barstewards, if they had anything about themselves they would donate their match fee to people who deserve it, like 'Help for Heros'.

If what you're saying is true then don't you think we have an even bigger problem? We gave our all, were motivated and determined yet somehow still got played off the park by a semi-professional side two divisions below us. And let's be honest, Bath aren't a non-league side brimming with confidence either - they're in the bottom half of their respective division!

I've said it before but it's clear to me that our players are losers in their own mind. They need to go, the lot of them, for us to make a fresh start - the thing is, that can't happen until May at the earliest, and I fear that may be too late.

Half of them would just stare with a "gone out" look on there faces the other half would just think the post was talking about the other half.

Think you may have hit the nail on the head there fella.

The problem is that half the Town players would think they are talking about the other half.  While the other half of the Town players would think they are talking about the other half.

Wait for it.....

Shrewsbury fan here, seeing as i signed upto this forum a short while ago though would take the time to log in and say what a cracking post it certainly made me chuckle.

All best in future guys i know your currently having a tough time hope Leeds isnt a disgrace like Saturday obviously was.

PS. this thread has been posted on Shrewsburys messageboard (not by me)

http://blueandamber.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=62171

Shrews fan here in peace too!!! As you know we went through a torrid time a few years back so we know what you're going through, however, you have loads of time to get things sorted..

Anyway, the other Salopian poster said about Poojahs thread on here and have to say that that really does have to be nominated for the rivals board post of the century..

I wish you all well chaps and ladies and hope that Poojahs message hits the right ball sack and shocks them into turning your season around.

All the best.. Blum

Never mind about sending them to Dignitas. Colgan was seen outside McDonalds earlier today threatening to throw himself under a bus bound for Cleethorpes. Trouble is, the bus was taking fares near Isaac's Hill before Colgan had managed to get to ground.

You've spotted that too, I'm not convinced about Colgan and haven't been since his performance at Cheltenham.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Dear Poojah

As you may have guessed by my moniker your rant has now spread well beyond the realms of Grimsby Town supporters. Your message to your players will I feel sure strike a chord with all of us who've been there at some point, got depressed and yet still wear the t-shirt. As for myself I regard your slight annoyance with your players as a classic piece of fan invective. Fabulous stuff mate and quite possibly football rant of the year.

Gooner 48 - One life, one game, one team, three doubles and an unbeaten season....although maybe I shouldn't be mentioning such things to Grimsby fans right now

Quoted from Poojah

A very disillusioned Mariner

We played ok tonight but this is my feelings exactly Fantastic post that should be printed and read out on Saturday afternoon at 2.45. to all of the players.

Wow. Genuniely taken aback by how far this seems to have spread. Was just trying to bring a bit of lighthearted humour to a day on which the club seemed to have slumped to a new, new low. Thanks for all of the kind words - glad people found it amusing.

The word continues to spread on this as it's now gone global. I got it via a Southend United forum and then posted it onto a forum for Australian A-League team Brisbane Roar (I'm a Shrimper living out here in Brisbane now).

These feelings are universal for all but the fans of a very few clubs around the world at some time or another. Absolutely brilliant!

So far its on forums of Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Hereford, Rochdale, Darlington, Bath City, Lincoln, Shrewsbury, Notts County, Macclesfield, Hartlepool, Cheltenham and a good few general football forums. (I googled the link and "repugnant, sputum-filled, invertebrate bástards")

Poojah, aka angry Grimsby fan on many forums, has created a viral PR campaign for the fans of Grimsby Town.   excellent.

ive noticed the german keeper robert enke managed to jump in front of a train and he wasnt nearly as bad as any our lot.come on grimsby players do it ,suck on a hose connected to your exhaust, jump in the bath with the toaster, jump off freemo flats ,walk out into the sea ,id even be happy to pay for a one way ticket to switzerland to that dignitas clinic, do it, do it ,do it.lets face it lads playing for badly for a team that is now[because of you lot] on its way out of the league is likely to be the pinnicle of your careers.your likely to be on the scrapheap as soon as we manage to get rid of you all and being thick daft footballers[maybe footballers wasnt the best way to describe you lot] id be suprised if any of you found the cure for cancer .so go on kill yourselves

Please Mr Fenty, threaten the next player who underperforms woefully that he well be exchanged for a month with an Aylesbury player, with wage amounts swapped accordingly.

I've just had the link to Poojah's posting e-mailed to me by a mate near Aberdeen.
Being a Chelsea fan from down south I am unfortunately unable to comment about the highs and lows of Grimsby Town FC. However, I thought it right to post on here and say as a fellow football fan, Poojah.....top draw posting, you are a legend mate and if you ever find yourself at the Bridge then the beers are on us.

I will from time to time go on line and search for the local Grimsby news, as i'm sure in the near future we will hear reports of someone called Poojah walking on water and turning water in to wine.

Good luck for the rest of the season guys.

I dunno where he got it from but he's a glory hunting traitor who lives in Cleethorpes and apparently it's a letter someone sent to all the Grimsby players after the Bath game."

Hilarious post, I felt like that back in the bad old days. The 6-5 game against your lot under Stan Ternant was terrible.
Hope the players read this and took it on board.

That was a great game?? How can you say otherwise? It wasnt that long ago that we used to tonk the likes of Burnley on a regular basis.

It was terrible, some of the worst defending I have ever witnessed came under the Ternent era. I remember getting tonked 7-2 off an already relegated Sheff Weds.
Not as bad as the Division 4 days though....

It wasnt that long ago that we played Luton Town in a memorable 3-2 win and look at them now.
Good luck for the season anyway and look to Burnley as to what can be achieved with next to no money

Dear Lord....this is HUGE. The only next logical step is to give Poojah a free pass for the next home game, line up the team in the centre and let him chuck rotten tomatoes at them in front of a baying Blundell Park.

Soccer AM for Poojah? Imagine him standing up to read out his rant on the show. I have no idea who you are Poojah, and if I'm honest think your rant is a bit much, but totally get the fraustration and anger that has got you to the point of writing it. What is great though is that the Fishy and all those that sail in her are well chuffed that tens of thousands on people have in some way empathised with the travails of a Mariners fan.

Batch, Crombie, Moore K, Wiggington, Cumming, Waters, Bonnyman, Ford, Emson, Drinkell, Whymark. Love you all, You are the reason I'm on here. You've had help from Todd, Handyside, Futcher P, Groves, Mendonca, Macca etc etc etc. Up The Mariners!!!!!!!!!

...Fulham fan in peace - and in tears of laughter, just saw this thread on our message board, http://friendsoffulham.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=3807003 I am sure many of us can relate to Poojahs outburst especially Fulham fans who have experienced all the divisions and endured crap teams.

Thanks for the laugh, a brilliant post which has been picked up by an Everton fan who posts on our board, he will put a link to his toffeetalk message board - and I hope there is a turn around in your fortunes..

We were beat 6-5 from your boys, 6-2 from Rotherham, 5-2 from Reading, 7-4 from Watford and 7-2 from Sheffield Wednesday in that season.
Horrific defending at times, I have definitely felt like Poojah in his original post. I think thats why its been such a success - not only because its funny but a lot of fans have been there!

Poojah you may have saved the club by saying what the majority of us were feeling. It was a long time in coming and we have more than been patient with the players and the way they have under performed. Also with Town fans in great voice and numbers that went they can not say that we haven't been behind them. It's down to them to respond and start moving us up this league.

This has gone global and fans everywhere (apart from glory hunters and the big 4) have felt these lows.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Read this on a link from a Rochdale Fan on the AFC Wimbledon website. Absolute class.

We have always had a huge soft spot for Grimsby following the anti-franchise t-shirts

As a Don exiled in West Yorkshire this means I have mixed feelings. I would love to see you turn around your fortunes but Grimsby is a very reachable away game for me. Since we have no hope of going up this year perhaps you would be kind enough to stay up at the expense of Bradford City who are quite a bit closer.

A very disillusioned Mariner

I think the point is that this post of Poojahs has brought the genuine fan together a little more. The football message forum, usually the domain for the sneering and often aggressive away fan, has been shown to be a place for a genuinely common interest amongst us all: the love of our own club, no matter who it is or how well they are doing now. As has been said so often in this thread, we've all been there and felt like this but stick with it through thick and thin.

I am appalled but not surprised that this post is still getting rave reviews despite the desperately sad death of Robert Enke. I hope and trust that Soccer AM will have nothing to do with it this week, of all weeks!
I'm sure that it was intended as 'a bit of fun' but Enke's death should remind everybody that footballers are human beings too!

A lot more than that too. Its also on Man Utd's, Leeds Utd's and Everton's boards to name just a few and its also on Aberdeen's board and the Scottish giants Auchinleck Talbot's board too.

I can see where you are coming from and a lot of it is in bad taste but it was written probably 72 hours before Enke's death and cannot be linked to that. Yes, footballers are human but I don't suppose Enke's troubles were down to criticism of his footballing abilities more to do with personal tragedy.

Thanks for putting a smile on my face this dull morning!

Greetings from the Ayr United fans forum currently bottom of the Scottish 1st division,

http://www.honestpage.co.uk/mboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11757

I'm sure many football fans apart from your 'big four' and our 'big two' can sympathise with your situation. Will be looking for your next result, in fact i might even put £20 on it because if 42,000 football fans around the globe have read this i'm sure your 'team' have and may well just get the message!

Bestof luck for the rest of the season

Could any of the players this refers to confirm or not that the squad have seen this? Would be even better to get some sort of fighting response from the skipper. Show us all you've got some balls and some humility.

The reaction to this has been big, but i must be alone in thinking if the players do read this, it'll do the exact opposite of spurring them on. I just don't think it's helping, even if we can all relate to it.

Colchester Fan here - was on our Official Message board a couple of days ago but stumbled across it via a Wycombe forum again today

Quality post and reminds me of the days when we got relegated to the conference -  anyway I am now adopting Grimsby as my second team and will follow your results! (may even try and get a few of the Col U lads to do a weekend up your way to take in a match).

Good luck fellow fishy fans!

Plymouth Argyle fan here - what a post, it was on our board and we loved it!  Hope it turns around for you, we know what it feels like to lose to crappy fourth division teams on a weekly basis.  We got out of it, there's no reason that you can't!

Incidentally, I was at your away game at Chester last year and your away support that day was exceptional.

I thought I'd pop in and say I saw this on a Washington Redskins (American football) forum. I was astonished.

I am sorry to say that though I am an American and an avid football fan, I am only versed in the
