Saw them earlier and agree with you! Theres no one near aswad, he HAS to be getting a call from the keeper there, and well his header is just awful anyway. Quite irritating when you see the way we basically threw away 3 points but oh well, on to monday!

I had gone out of the room for their second goal. After seeing it- that is a corner, not a penalty; certainly not a yellow card even if it is deemed a foul. Did the linesman on that side flag, anyone know?

It does not matter if Thomas got a call or not,

You do not head the ball into the danger area,

If you can not clear it, leave it !!!!!!!!!!!

Must admit - I thought the same as you - but later on BT showed another angle, where (to me) Akinde pushed the ball forward on to the 'committed' Pearson (the ball going out of play). Therefore, Pearson did not win the ball directly - having been second and taking out the forward. Split second stuff - but that's football.

On the other hand. as others have said, the Alfreton player going through LJL and LJL getting booked for standing his ground plus Kempson staying on the pitch after some serious misdemeanours, when Grimsby players got punished for much less, has to be on the agenda for the Referees Association next meeting (they have to clean up their act).

Also, the Conference League also has to introduce goal line technology if it wants to be considered as a serious league. Great clearance by Bradley Wood. but at least some of the ball (if not all) was behind the goal line, in my view.

But if Pearson connects with the ball before the man how can that be a foul, unless considered reckless, which it obviously wasn't? Should that not be considered good judgement by the 'committed' player?

Surely the referee thought Akinde had pushed the ball past Pearson who then trips him.

The ball connected with Pearson (from Akinde's touch) rather than Pearson connecting with the ball. Don't think it deserved a yellow card though. Kempsons did - as it was deliberate. Again, the Referees Association will mark the ref. but will let him off because of the extenuating circumstances of the late arrival of the Grimsby team bus and the embarrassment of a 1 hour 15 minute delay to the televised kick off.
