No longer to be Palace manager and now the plot thickens. His mate Moody has resigned from Palace.

He had a lot of support from the football world when he got the sack from Cardiff and the chairman was the baddie but it makes you wonder how many of his mates who spoke up for him then knew about this lot -

If the allegations are proven, it is a shocking step backwards for top football in this country.

Maybe Mackay and the Cardiff owner were an ideal partnership.  Both as bad as each other.

I'm sorry but Vincent Tan has played Mackay (and the press and Crystal Palace) like fools over this. Fantastically machiavellian stuff from the mad Malaysian.

Perhaps you could explain how?

Seems to me that Mackay and Moody were the architects of their own downfall in this with their behaviour in the first place. That doesn't make Tan a saint but it does make them very stupid.

Maybe you can interpret it as some sign of progress that having written those things now eliminates him from having any chance of a decent job. Not that long ago it would've been ignored.

Reading the Daily Heil blurb (spit), it seems that Tan let them know that they had the offending text messages back in May, which led to Mackay and Moody immediately dropping their lawsuits and apologising publicly to him.

They obviously thought this would get them off the hook, but revenge is obviously a dish best served cold - Tan has waited until Mackay was about to get another job before releasing the messages anyway!

With a reputation as a bit of a dim bigot, Mackay's now only likely to get a job in Italy or Eastern Europe!
