Magnay on the left, Bignot (or Walker) on the right, I assume? Should be OK, hopefully.

I'd rather we avoided playing 3-5-2 if possible as I'm not convinced we've got the wingbacks to play it well enough. It would be more like a 5-3-2 with our current personnel.

Given the way Gateshead play I would think 3-5-2 would be a more potentially suitable option than it was at home to Dover. Also, if we don't want to start Winfarrah due to inexperience, age, ability of opposition etc then I can't see why we would view treating Walker any differently. My guess is that, if he does want to play 3 centre backs, he'll go for Magnay on the left and he'll reinstate Bignot at right back. Not ideal really though, although it might prompt him to move Paddy into a central midfield 3.

On balance, I'd probably prefer us to go 4-4-2 for this but still play McLaughlin alongside Brown in centre mid and Mackreth and Nielson out wide.
