When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Agreed. If the guys are turning up to do their days work (be that player, coaching staff, or even the people in the kitchens) they deserve to be paid for it.

That's probably the keeper, half is for playing, & the other half for working as a translator.

What idiot employs a manager that can't speak English? You couldn't make it up.

I bet Leyton Orient fans wish Barry Hearn didn't sell the club to the Italian Billionaire now.

I've heard a lot of teams abroad do it.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

The only pleasing thing to come out of this is that Lee Hughes will be missing his high wages he was getting at FGR.

Makes JF seem like a saint doesn't it?

The leagues are at fault for allowing some of these takeovers. Owners are supposed to be 'fit and proper persons' but in effect this means they are given the OK as long as they have no convictions. Of course the supporters are often taken in as well in the first place by promises of huge financial support. Anybody foreign must have loadsamoney, right?

In the long run it would be better and more community friendly to see clubs go to the wall and be reborn as fan-owned businesses, even if it meant dropping down the leagues.

“If all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.”
