Blimey we need to get cracking, Wrexham, Eastleigh and FGR have all already made quality signings on paper.

Come on Shaun, Carl, Lenny, Nathan, Jack, Toto and Diz put pen to paper so Hursty knows what to go and get.

Shocked me doing Barrow, they've been bought by some Dallas (USA) Millionaire (2014), they're doing ground improvements now and going full-time!

Haynes is a fantastic player on Football Manager. He's scored 25 goals in League 2 for me. I'd take a punt purely on that basis. Lol.

Right I'll sign him then. For league 1 in season 3.

Joking aside we do need a goal scorer.

Cheers I'll update the list, Wrexham have also released Joe Clarke (Midfielder) >> http://www.dailypost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wrexham-fc-midfielder-joe-clarke-9311397

For what it's worth Guiseley have released Kyle Harrison (Centre back), Alex Johnson (Striker).

Kidderminster have signed Gurjit Singh (Striker) and released Akwasi Asanti (Striker), he's gone to Solihull Moors, I guess he's replacing Omar Bogle, supposingly heading to the football league.

Tranmere adding some quality to their ranks. Could be the new Brisrol Rovers next season!

Think Bromley will do okay with the additions of Lee Minshull and Max  Porter.

I have my doubts about Gary Mills. He is signing some very good attacking players but his downfall has always been his defence.

Braintree have no money to talk of,

So if they paid a fee it would be peanuts.

I'm probally boring everyone with these updates, but Barnet have released the following players:

Sam Cowler (GK), Jack Saville (Centre back), Lee Cook (Winger), Charlie MacDonald (Striker)

Doubt we would be interested, but Leyton Orient released Chris Dagnall and Kevin Lisbie, although Barnet are apparently interested in him.

No retained list as yet from Bristol Rovers.  Front page updated.

That's what I was thinking; he's been released by Forest Green, and apparently wants to come back to the area. Only Gateshead/Blyth and Darlo around here.

So if he doesn't go the Heed. I think he'll come back.

Southport have signed the following new players:

Adam Blakeman (Left back), Peter Cavanagh (Right back), Andy Wright (Right back, Midfielder), Jamie Allen (Striker)

The new faces include experienced ex-Accrington Stanley, Fleetwood and Rochdale player Peter Cavanagh, who joins from league rivals Altrincham.

Cavanagh will be Carden's player-coach as his first step into a management role.

Also with considerable Football League experience is 6`1” midfielder Andy Wright, who joins from Morecambe having also played for Scunthorpe, Grimsby Town and in the USA.

Nineteen-year-old striker Jamie Allen has signed from Fleetwood, having already achieved Football League appearances and will compete upfront with the mightily impressive end of season find Connor McCarthy, who is now a contracted 'Port player.

Halifax Town have signed the following two players in the last day or so:

Elliott Whitehouse (Midfielder) who has recently been released by Notts County.

http://www.halifaxafc.co.uk/news/article/new-98-1532351.aspx

Yesterday they signed Samuel Walker (Midfielder) from Curzon Ashton, The all-action midfielder, 28, joins the Shaymen after leading Curzon to a historic promotion to the National League North via the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division play-offs. Walker scored 15 goals as the Tameside outfit only tasted defeat in three league games in 2015 to dramatically reach non-league’s second tier for the first time in their history.

http://www.halifaxafc.co.uk/news/article/new-99-1532349.aspx

Whitehouse and Sam Walker join Dan Maguire, Josh MacDonald at the Shay as Neil Aspin prepares for the 2015-16 season.

Lincoln City sign Jack Muldoon, released from Rochdale, on loan at Halifax end of season just gone.
Cheers, I'll add it to the front page along with the other confirmed signings >> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Muldoon

A superb 2013/14 season, which saw him score 21 league goals for Worksop, attracted interest from Football League clubs and he subsequently made the move to Rochdale on a one-year deal.

Speaking of the devil, or rather the Imps! (Lincoln City) They have made another signing today...

Chris Bush (Centre back / Left back), having spent a month with City on loan from Gateshead in January 2013, he returns to Sincil Bank having spent last season with Welling United.

A former Brentford trainee, the 22-year-old gained experience in loan spells at Salisbury City, Woking, Wimbledon and Thurrock before joining Wimbledon on a permanent basis in June 2011.  He subsequently moved north to Gateshead and later joined Hereford United before linking up with Welling.

I may as well put this in here, but I was curious to see what has happend to Rhys Oates, the striker we had on loan earlier last season.  Anyway out of pure coincidence, it appears today he's signed for Hartlepool United in League Two, having been released by Barnsley >> http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32915040

Hmmm. I (vaguely) seem to recall that the Mackems were a bit 'agricultural' in style when Crosby was in charge all those years ago? This would be a big difference from Gateshead's tippy-tappy style of recent seasons.

Gutted Eastleigh have signed Josh Payne. I've wanted him at Town for 2/3 years now. Superb on the ball, great vision with a work ethic too. Probably frightened of a move up north anyway.

I'm just afraid Gateshead's chance has passed them by. Graham Wood was a wonderful owner and it's unfortunate (and no fault of his) that he was unable to deliver either of his goals; a new stadium and a return to The Football League. They came so close to both targets and I hope all the progress he achieved doesn't unravel now he is no longer owner, though he remains Chairman.

Aldershot Town have agreed a deal to sign ex Luton player Jim Stevenson (Midfielder) on a one-year contract from 1 August.
The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan with the Shots, scoring three goals in 14 appearances.

Braintree Town have signed Matt Fry (Centre back / Left back).  The 24-year-old former Charlton Athletic defender and West Ham trainee has linked up with Cowley again after several successful seasons with him at Concord Rangers and was the manager's pick as Player-of-the-Season at the Canvey club last year.

Bristol Rovers have signed James Clarke (Centre back / Right back) from Woking on a free transfer. The 25-year-old had spells with Oxford United and Oxford City before joining Salisbury in 2012, where he played under Rovers boss Darrell Clarke. He made 31 appearances for Woking last term and joins a Rovers side preparing for life back into the Football League.
"There were offers on the table from league clubs and conference sides, but the opportunity to join Rovers was too big to turn down," he said.

Welling United have signed Harry Osbourne (Centre back / Right back) following his departure from Charlton Athletic.  The 21-year-old defender, who made eight league appearances and score once during a loan spell with the Wings last season, has agreed a one-year contract.

A few more players have left various clubs, nothing worthy of noting with the exception of Brett Williams, which has already been covered in another post.  Front page updated.

Sam Russell signs for Gateshead.

Decent signing as he's always impressed when we've played Darlo and FGR in the past.

I thought he was there on non-contract terms. He was initially anyway.

Gateshead's retained/released list.

Kevin Sainte-Luce amongst those released. Maybe that was just a flash in the pan what he did at BP last season. Also says that they have offered new terms to John Oster.

Would definitely go for St Luce, not be on much of a wage and has potential that could be developed.

Is he actually any good, though? He's been released by two clubs in 2015 and has scored a third of his career goals in that one game against us (which I missed, so I've never seen him play).

Signing players who have scored against you isn't always the best indicator of quality as Murray Jones and Antoine Curier showed!

Antoine-Curier didn't score against us did he?!! I thought that was a nightmare I'd had.....

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

Yeah, he scored at Meadow Lane for Notts County. I think they beat us 3-1. We signed him a couple of weeks later.

The game Currier scored in was in 2004. Devitt didn't join us until 2010.

Gateshead have today signed Josh Gillies (Winger). The 25-year-old played five games on loan for the club last season, scoring once in a 2-2 draw with Halifax, a game in which he was also sent off.

Scored 15 goals in 45 games for them previously in the 2012–13 season >> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_Gillies

Not a transfer but the new owners of Torquay United have just placed Chris Hargreaves, his assistant Lee Hodges and goalkeeping coach Ken Veysey on 'gardening leave'.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Because they wouldn't accept the wage structure for their roles nor the budget the owners want to give them

I looked upon Cook as an outstanding signing for Barnet, I think he actually approached them to play for them, however he was a passenger against us last season contributing very little.

I was impressed with him last season (b4 he got sent off!) after not being so when he was in a Nuneaton shirt.

At 23 he could develop further.

Scottish Premier Division sides  seem to be targeting Conference/League 2 players??. Possibly more money on offer???

Deal done Louis Moult gone to Motherwell for undisclosed fee (rumours of up to £150K) - as you say that's a blow to their hopes but they should have something in the kitty to replace him.

Ashley Grimes joins Barrow, good signing that.

Lincoln sign defender Callum Howe

FGR sogn Keanu Marsh-Brown, another good signing,  I think this league is going to be tougher than last year.
