RH are reporting that Town have made an enquiry for a loan midfielder and would like to bring a player in before the weekend.

Evidently, this is because Craig Clay is a doubt with an ankle injury, Disley is on 4 yellows and Brown is not ready to return.

Not sure he'd want to drop down to this level but this chap could be worth a quick call.

Agree with that Les,

You never know a 3 month loan might interest him.

Suspect not.

This is not a time to be short in midfield - coming up to two massive home games. It was clear, once we let Robinson go, that we were short of a centre midfielder, so the Clay injury has obviously just added some urgency. I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't a new development and that we haven't been looking for a centre mid for a couple of weeks now, but it's a bit of an oversight by management to leave us looking short and having to get someone in quick.

That said, this might all be a bunch of kidology for FGR's benefit, Wouldn't be surprised to see Clay play Saturday. Added pressure is - Dis' next booking mreans a suspension so we defo need a player asap whatever the thinking.

We have been short all season.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you give him an excuse for him to escape from the wife and kids for the weekend and drink lots of beer.

When would the suspension kick-in? For the Heed game? Wouldn't put it past FGR to get him booked.

Are the young midfielders at the club that far behind to start?

Interesting question Bobby Turtle. They - Venney and Clifton - were considered, in pre-season, to be part of the squad and described as good players

After that - subs bench for the first 4 games - ? And then the manager requires experience and certainty, so never to be seen again?.

Unlucky lads.
