FFS, what sort of manager spouts something like that? Moyes is an amateur, that sort of thing would stay inside with any half-pro manager. Maybe he didn't like you Moyses, or maybe the awful football you produce. But he's pro enough to keep it zipped.

Should have stayed private, I'm sure we'll be hearing from Hearn soon enough as it's a totally one-sided story right now.

But yeah..Grimsby-itis...he sounds as bad (and as paranoid) as the t!ts on their message board.

Maybe for the Lincoln fixture we all ought to wear bandages on our heads or those little nurses hats with a red cross on them. Or maybe medical masks.

This "Grimsbyitis" thing can be quite dangerous you know. Bound to be contagious

What does he actually mean by 'Grimsbyitis' anyway? Tinpot fooker.

Enough about Lincoln now. They are not and never have been on a par with us so who cares?

It's a good question though Ginny. Surely the anger should be towards Barrow, Cox and Hearn?

As much as Grimsby-bashing is the most popular pastime here in Lincoln, this is just bewildering.
And to 'leave the door open' for a return for Hearn after that attack...wow, Moyses little self made management world is going to start unravelling fast I'd say.

Struggling to think of what that comment actually implies.

Is he questioning the validity of Hearn's injury that forced him to sit out of our game at SB, and now we're due to play again soon he wanted out. I'd doubt that has anything to do with Liam's decision to be honest, but could be Moyses having a pop at Hearn and trying to undermine his professionalism.

Good shout.  Pathetic either way.   Clearly a bust up and Moyses has shown himself up to be an absolute mammary.

Moyes is showing himself for what he is, a Sunday league manager. Not only with that comment but also what he is saying about Hearn. I was obviously not involved in the conversation but all he has to say is no Liam, we hold your contract and we have not got a replacement, if you feel the same in a month then you can go out on loan from January when I have time to get one in.

Sounds to me like he is full of sh8t and the big falling out we have heard about is what it comes down to.

As much as i dont want to defend them...perhaps he is referring to the condition that Liam has clearly got which he first showed signs of here...being injured...not being happy about the amount of game time following his return and then f**king off.

Pretty much how i remember it, dont forget Liam was well supported by the club through his injuries and it was him who instigated his contract being terminated so he could get himself straight...before then moving to a club that he was long rumoured to be heading to shortly after.

Lincoln took a massive gamble on him with his injury record, it seems they have nursed him through pretty succesfully to date but because he isnt getting as much time as he wants, and i would imagine with his record Lincoln would have been cute enough to make it a pay as you play contract, so he maybe wont be getting the money he wants either.......then suddenly he f**ks off !!

hmmmmmm.. ......

I really don't get what the hell he means by that.

Perhaps signing our ex players all the time and their fans obsession with us has made Grimsbyitis endemic amongst their crowd? They thought it was a pretty harmless bug but now the infection is chronic causing acute bouts of terrible symptoms such as the delusions of grandeur their fan base has been displaying?

Seriously though if someone could decipher wtf he means I'd love to be enlightened.

That's how I read it, like he's drawing parallels with how we looked after Liam through his recurring injury before he forced through that move to Mansfield, rather than making a dig at GY.

I'm wondering if Moyses statement on Grimsbyitis was a dig at Liam who has perhaps indicated he is missing playing for a real football club,GTFC instead of a tinpot outfit and I wonder if Liam had expectations of us stepping in for him, which hasn't happened and he will most likely know that we have now got our striker shortage sorted,so no chance of a return here. What ever, I'm happy he's not here and it's Lincoln he's messing around .I'm very happy with the strikers we now have.

I'm pretty certain it means he thinks Hearn didn't want to play us at BP. Should have said 'Grimphobia'.   Some people getting their knickers in a twist over a dig at Hearn, not us, it was just a daft way of wording it.

As for forcing a move- how exactly does a player sign the paperwork the club has to file with the FA?

What a strange bloke. GTFC are as relevant to former Mansfield striker Hearn moving to Barrow as Arsenal or Boca Juniors.

At this rate we'll be calling in the Fishy grammar police to pass a decree to Oxford dictionary standard over the acceptance or not of all these new Grimsbyeque words coming into existence...

Grimphobia can be felt from afar (is that what Kiddy manager meant when he said they shouldn't be scared coming to BP?) whereas Grimsbyitis a more local affliction affecting neighbours and ex players?

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

For the younger supporters that may not be familiar with it, here is a link to the tune Poison Ivy by the Labrettas. It was a proper lad song and the dance floors used to be full of lads singing it out.

Actually think it's a brilliant statement for Moyse to make. All PH needs to do before the Xmas game is to pin it up on the changing room wall and leave his pre match speech at home.

What an utter kn0b.

I don't give a toss for Lincoln City or anything associated with them.
I also don't care for anyone on their forum either, they really think that they are of superior intelligence and we are all brain dead.
What a bunch of idiots they really are.
If you really want a chuckle then read the posts of "scotimp" on their forum. Blimey does he think he's something special.
First class idiot.
Oh, and if he wants to check my spelling and granmmar then he's quite welcome to do so. (he likes to do that you know, being all superior to every one else).

I did have a chuckle after one of their posters called "The electric banana" was saying how thick we all are then promptly went on to misspell vocabulary and their. Their FFS; a five letter word. I'm glad irony is alive and well in Lincoln.

I've had it years...hard to shift...

As for Moyses, he is an amateur that got his job because he essentially bought it. Obviously Hearn wasn't happy, may be he could've gone about it differently but it's happened now. Interestingly, Hearn hints at a different story to what the guy in the Echo is suggesting.

I'll always remember Gordon Hobson putting in a man of the match performance in probably his last game for Town against Norwich City, scoring the only goal, when Norwich were already promoted to the top division.
Also, didn't we sign Jack Lewis from Lincoln for about £3000 quid.
And didn't we sign Matt Bloomer from Lincoln on a Saturday morning before a 2-1 defeat against Carlisle United, when their Spanish left full back Aralnade scored twice, and later on and ultimately we didn't get promoted with a minute to spare, courtesy of Northampton? See you Russell.

Yes that's right, we did sign Bloomer just before the Carlisle game. It was 2 days after that famous Wrexham victory, when 73 of our side finished the game injured.

Oh, and Tom Newey missed a penalty when we were 2-1 down.

(The Northampton goal was irrelevant though, I know Northampton fans like to take credit for stopping our promotion but they're wrong!)

Grimsbyitis - That will be the excuse for not bringing many at Xmas to BP.

I looked this term up in the dictionary and found the following descriptions.......

Grimsbyitis - Paranoia that your local competitor has more class a better standard of workmanship amongst it's employees who by the way like the tools of their trade to observe the laws of gravity and stay on the ground.

Grimsbyitis - A condition which effects but is not exclusive to prima donna footballers who lack the necessary professionalism to return to their former place of employment and  in front of thousands of die hard's who adored them ply the trade that they get reasonably rewarded for.

Grimsbyitis - A condition that could possibly lead to you being vocally ridiculed by thousands of devote genuine followers during the season of good will when the black and white forces of good will triumph over the red and white geographical neighbours who marry their sisters by all being well 5 - 0 at the Mecca that is known as Blundell Park.

Your choice and time will tell which one is true...................... I'd personally like to think they all are TBH.

This reminds of Gordon Hobson remember him ?

He packed his bags and said he was off to Southampton,

Even though he was under contract .

You're right Pete. I remember at the time, being angry and upset and thinking...'Hang on a minute....'?!?!

Haha really got the wood on him if he's so paranoid he's created a medical condition about us the guy must be losing his marbles.  Hobson scored some cracking goals whilst here he really was quality shame he left so quickly.

I suspect it's exactly that. Frankly, if I were in Hearn's position, I would be consulting lawyers.

maybe it's something as silly as Liam checks our results every week at full time and it annoyed the manager and the rest of the team? As soon as we finish on a Saturday I check straight away and give a loud cheer if town have won

I honestly don't know what he's meaning by it - perhaps he was worried lincoln fans would turn against him with one of their two star strikers leaving and just threw that phrase in as he thought by implying grimsby had anything to do with it he was more likely to get lincoln fans onside? It's a term that doesn't actually mean anything whilst implying the situation is connected in some way to us.

I heard from a reliable Lincoln fan called sloth, that Liam is alleged to have said why is there half the fans here than what Grimsby have. That, and Lincoln are so fcuking tin pot even the tin pot isn't even tin.

If he stays true to form he won't play and will claim to have had a reoccurrence of his injury...much like did against us.

The one problem with this theory is why go to Barrow if he thinks Lincoln are tin pot
They think a thousand is a good gate in Barrow

Pound for pound the Barrow fans are better than Lincoln who are mainly made up of mutations.

They are certainly a knowledgeable crowd and it's not their fault they have to live in a town that is still firmly rooted in the 1970s

No he's not allowed to play against us coupled with their game being called off last Saturday ,not allowed to play in the FAT it means his much used card of i want a move for more match minutes appears to as hollow as we first though at the time of him wanting to leave & the next game he can play is Boxing day.

Has to be a bit more to it. Though I reckon he's just seen through the tinpot running of the club, from the dreadful Echo YTS journey Pakey with his constant sh!t stirring of Hearns situation through to the ridiculous fans stream of bitter posts/tweets (must mention the sad sack on Vital who spent 30 minutes of his life composing a 'humorous' ditty about it).
He won't be going back, Rheads 'effective' style of play and goals will see him grabbed by a higher club and Lincoln will end up with the likes of Blissett, telling the Echo that yeah, really, he can fill Liams boots.

Lincolnitis....uncurable.

He was really well managed & looked after but think it comes down to the be all and end all in football money.
All the players were shocked by his departure no fallout with anyone or management.

Helgy....
has there been any confirmation or action on the reported incident from a couple of months back, rumoured to be your manager and players on a day out in the city centre?
Never heard anything either way despite some very strong rumours at the time.

They were out celebrating the birth of a players baby but no players or staff were involved in it, lots of silly rumours posted on vital, did post that no one was involved but that just attracted some weird replies from one poster but come to expect that on there.
