We have 42 points from 23, five points off the top and half way through the season.  I think most would agree that we haven't quite lived up to our potential until this run of 5 wins (PH for manager of the month?).

What do people think we need to do in the second half?

Cheltenham have 47 points and are the team to catch.  I don't see FGR being Champions.  Cheltenham are favourites for me but Town could pass them.

Assuming Cheltenham do as well second half, they would have 94 points.  Barnet finished with 92 last year.

I think 95 points would guarantee top spot but anything over 90 might be enough.

95 points means 53 in 23 games or 11 more than the first half.

Looking back at the 1st half, are there obvious games where we should have picked up more points?  Kidderminster away (2), Torquay at home (2), Altrincham away (1), Macclesfield home (3), Cheltenham home (1), Torquay away (2) make up 11 points we might have expected so I think it's possible.

53 points means something like 16 wins, 5 draws and 2 defeats.  I think we are capable of that.

Do you agree?

Anything is possible

We just need to keep on winning as many games as we can

Turning draws in to victories is key for us to keep the pressure on the leaders

Lots of twists and turns to come in the second half of the season but I think we are now well prepared to face the challenges head on

What you need to remember is that a lot of teams fade after the new year. whether it be fatigue (part time) or injuries and suspension. We appear to have good quality in depth this year, so hopefully should be able to cope with this better than other teams. UTM

Thank you Mr Corbyn (Steptoe), you are the best thing that has happened to the Conservatives for ages.

I think today was about 'blooding' new signings - and we got 3 points, so the decision is in tact.

The trick now is to keep harmony within the camp - as 6 players who could well be selected , were not in the squad today.

Management of players is the key now.

According to the bookies its a 3 horse race for the title between us, Village Green and Cheltenham. Tranmere look out of it, although I still think Eastleigh are a threat, even if we always seem to beat them. But the bookies have written them off.

Good analysis London.

It'll be very tough to get 53 points in the second half of the season. That's a 26% improvement. I don't know if that's within the normal range of variation but it sounds a lot. I dare say last season's turnaround was at least as big.

It also presupposes Cheltenham aren't capable of a significant improvement too.

Tough. But doable.

Top number crunching and as someone said to me recently "what can't talk can't lie" WTF that means I'm not sure.

I do know though that we now until January at least have some strength in depth, loanees from Championship sides rather than league 2 clubs a striker that is in "Vardy Form" a core of contracted players who feel part of something and a band of supporters who can be the 12 man when needed...........................Oh yes and despite today we are beginning to play a bit of decent football and are grinding out results.

Can we dare to dream? I reckon so.

It's definitely there to be won and FGR and Cheltenham will think the same. It's a squad game and it seems daft to single out one player, but I think if we could secure Townsend for the season that could be the difference.
