...........from the CTFC forum

CTFC have got 35 points from 16 away games (2.19 ppg) , 34 from 15 home (2.27ppg) = 69 points from 31 - so our record home and away are very similar

FGR have 43 points from 17 home (2.53ppg) , and 25 from 15 away (1.67ppg) (68 points from 32) - so very much a "home" team

Grimsby 21 points from 13 away games (1.62ppg) , 34 from 16 home (2.13) (55 from 29) -

Interesting reading.

Last two seasons, we have had a fantastic away record and not so good at home. Seems to have swung the other way now. We cannot seem to get all the elements right at the same time, which is why we are mostly chasing the leading pack every season. Those stats for Cheltenham are frighteningly good and the reason they will win the league.

Agree totally

IF they can maintain more than 2 points per game from now on until Easter time then they may well have the title in their hands with a couple of weeks to spare

Then it will be the annual dog fight for the promotion play off place. Going to be a nervy Spring again for us I fear....

All our form has mostly come from the middle part of the season. We had an indifferent start.

Chances are that the luck could run out with late goals and so such for one of the top two, hopefully both. For certain one of them will have a dip in form and the gap can be bridged.
If course this depends on our own form, the next 3 games are really make or brake for all of the teams in the top 5.

I personally think we will finish 4th but think it will be harder than last year in the play offs trannys and one of top two will be no push over. Not sure who the other spot will go to though.

We have a great squad but PH does not know how to make game changing tactics during games and that could cost us dearly again. Would make a bloody top scout tho.

Funnily enough VoR I've just been looking at stats and noticed that despite playing more games overall, you have played one fewer away game, making your points tally even better.

Home attendances by the way are 2700 for Chelts and 4605 for Grimsby. That difference'd probably eat away most if not all of the parachute money.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Agreed. That's got to be worth at least £20K extra per home game, approx £460K over the season extra.

Financially it looks like were on a pretty level budget.

We received around 100K for a 16 year old from Derby which even equates to your Operation Promotion fund raising.

Cheltenham top spot, Play offs Us, VGR, Tranmere, Eastleigh. If we keep a settled side and have decent run to the play off's then we have as good a chance than anybody...............Still a lottery though. Finishing 3rd and playing your first game away makes a difference based upon previous experience.

Guess we'll have a better idea after the away games at VGR, Cheltenham and Tranmere as if we can get results there we can get them anywhere.

It's not bad for a team that started the season with a full squad of new players.

What will they do after they've had time to gel?

That's the outstanding thing for me. This squad met up for the first time at training in July!
