Now we are a League 2 Club can we do something about the catering next season. I'm not a FGR sympathiser but a veggie and it would be nice to get some food on match days. It's not fair sitting in the Pontoon watching fans munching into their hot dogs and burgers....... Meat alternatives exist.

The current lot have a contract. Don't know when it is up but i hope the Trust are going to take over the catering when it is. Would be nice to have decent grub, seeing as we are labelled Food Town. Fish finger butties would be ace.

Sadly, the chap at Kidderminster will not be selling very many pies, lasagne or chow meins in the Conference North.

Maybe we can pay him to come and set up a similar operation at BP?  He can share his best recipes along with quantities, logistical requirements and advice on preparation and margins.  I'm sure there'd be a local restaurant or catering company who could oblige.

There's plenty of space at BP for some good quality, fast food stall. Just takes a bit of imagination.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

I don't know why every club (barring Kiddy) serve the same tripe. Something imaginative would improve the punters experience which surely contributes to coming back for more.

With our heritage, Young's sponsorship etc it's sad that we haven't engaged our noggin on this.

100% with you on this, the club are missing a trick through laziness, simply contracting it out like they do.  The food is akin to dog dirt, and we deserve better.  I'd certainly spend more for quality.  I've never been to Kidderminster but the reputation that food has is legendary, it'd go down a storm at BP, and I think the club's concerns over wastage would be offset by the profit.

The Trust would do a good job at organising all that, I'd imagine.

Catering needs a major overhaul - desperately. It's absolutely mediocre and so behind the times. I never buy food when I go to a game as I know it's not worth it. If there was something worth eating (like Kidderminster!!) then I'd gladly open my wallet up.

I've never had the opportunity to eat at McMenemy's, but I have it on good authority from somebody I would consider to be a very fussy eater that the fish & chips the club serve are belting!  If they extended that restaurant catering to outside as well, I think that'd go down a storm......

Not to mention, the away fans (we might have some visiting BP next season!) would go mad for Grimsby fish and chips too.

If only we lived in a Town famous for it's fish and a county where potatoes and peas were grown by the ton. Imagine then if we had a reputation for food production, it would all just come together.

I'll gladly supply the spuds but we only grow pea shoots - don't bother with the peas!

Yes, frying fish and chips in a football ground might be a little tricky. However there are such things as mobile fish and chip vans.

My thoughts exactly. A very simple build that could be knocked up quickly and cheaply. I'm not someone who eats at the ground but if they sold decent grub, i would be inclined to forgo my usual Saturday lunch and buy something at the ground to put some money in the coffers.
