It's been a while since the last one and I feel it's time to start a fresh.

This time it's limited to British and Irish Grounds only.

A pretty easy to start off with...

Agree with others, it's the Main Stand at Goodison. It has quite a distinctive shape which I suspect is the reason the OP thought it would be easy.

Its the Goodison Park, easy to recognise because St.Luke's church is in the picture. Its the Goodison Road Stand with St.Luke's church in the corner which is between Goodison Road stand and Gwlady's Street stand.

The clue I'm going with is the old pitch markings which I believe were last used in 1901. The line across the pitch was at 12 yds and you could take a penalty anywhere along it!
The cup final that year was at Crystal Palace, and it's a huge crowd crowd, so possibly Palace.

Crystal Palace.

I think they used to host the early FA cup finals before Wembley and it's obviously a massive crowd but no stands.

Am I right in thinking that this isn't a football ground at all.

The track around the pitch has small floodlights all round so that indicates that the track is used more than the pitch.

I thought initially it was a running track but the gap between the seating and track would not be as wide for athletics so my guess is that it is a speedway track. It also has a stand which suggests that it is used all year round and an athletics track probably wouldn't have a stand being as they are only used in the summer. I think the tractor is removing the covers. (used to watch speedway years ago). There's a double barrier as well in front of the seating which you also have on a speedway track.

So I'm going for a speedway track but I don't know where.

I am guessing but it is either an English non league ground or a lower division Scottish ground, possibly the home of a football team that play in yellow shirts, going by the colour of the seating.

Blimey Joe, not many takers on this one so I will start the ball rolling.

Don't think it is a conference premier ground so I am going for Conference north or south ground.

So that just leaves 44 to guess at.

I will go for the top three in each division except Telford, North Ferriby, and Boston, I know it's not them.

Hednesford, Solihull or Brackley in the Conference North, or Bromley, Eastleigh or Sutton in the Conference South.

Deduction time again, Going by the clarity of the photo, and the fact it is in black and white, I would guess the period as post war, 40's or 50's.

The side in stripes must be someone big in their day, the crowd looks huge.
so I would say Newcastle or Sunderland is one team, but you obviously cannot tell the colour of the stripes.

The other teams shirts look like either Arsenal or Aston Villa, or maybe even West Ham.

Anything correct so far Joe ?

The odd thing about this picture is that there is no floodlight pylon in the corner of the ground, so that indicates that it is a war time photo and possibly a southern based club, the reason being is that all pylons and such like were removed to prevent the Luftwaffe using them as land marks for bombing operations during the war.

So I am going for a south coast team, someone like Portsmouth, Plymouth, Southampton, Brighton or Bournemouth.

Might be miles off though with my assertions.

I have been there and remember the little red commentary box in the middle of the picture.

Might be confused because I have been to quite a lot of grounds but I think it is Fleetwood.

We had a mini break in Blackpool a few years back and went to a game there.

Looks similar to one of the stands, The Holgate End at Ayresome Park..Middlesborough but think it could be South Shields, the floodlights look like the old ones they had from Sunderland.

Yep.

I have some relations in Chesterfield and I have driven past the ground several times and it just looks familiar although I might be miles off !!.

The blue of the outside matches them as well.

I can't think they did either WOZOF,so I think it could be the old stand at pittodry (or sumat similar) at Aberdeen FC., they replaced it with the D!ck Donald Stand. Can't remember the name of the old stand.Aberdeen also play in all red, they used to play in red shirts with white shorts, but that was before my time  ;) . If you look closely at the photo you will see young Sir Alex sat on his yellow and orange sandwich box.

Could be Elland road, def Leeds but the keeper is Ray Cashley and played for Both Bristol teams, I remember he scored a goal against Hull, but it was a windy day.The photo is possibly Leeds v Bristols Titty.

No. 1    The Mayday Trust Park, was called Twerton Park,  Bath Citys ground also shared with Bristol Rovers from 1986 to 1996.

Joe, I'm going to take a guess at this one. A few years back I was up in Airdrie and travelling around that area I remember a brightly coloured football stadium, only saw it from the outside, from the road I was travelling on but remember it painted in Red/Yellow. It was in a town called Coatbridge.  I cheated and Googled it and found thats where Albion Rovers play and their strip is Red/Yellow.So I'll go for Albion Rovers,Cliftonhill Stadium.Coatbridge.

Sorry for my absense.

Answers-

1 Twerton Park, Bath City
2 Cliftonhill Stadium, Albion Rovers
3 Eastville, Bristol Rovers
