Hopefully nothing but he's sporting one hell of a limp. Just seen him hobbling about, quite noticeably. Looked pretty ominous with a game tomorrow!

I wouldn't be too worried - Clayton could fit in there quite comfortably.

Does anyone know the situation with Shaun's bookings? Is it one more yellow and he misses 2 games?

I've just seen him in Tesco Hewitts Circus limping as well, clearly not gonna play tomorrow.

I understood the cards were wiped after the last but one game, Disley commented that he had to make sure he wasn't booked.

He would yes, but he's hardly match fit is he ? not played for weeks, mind you, same can be said about Chris Doig.

He played last Thursday against Dartford though.

With the cards situation, I thought there was an amnesty for them after Saturday because Disley on the radio was saying he needed to avoid getting another booking against Chester or Woking? (Unless that was just for people under 10 bookings?)

I think the amnesty was for the 10 booking mark, not 15. To be fair, there shouldn't be one for 15 bookings - that's Crane-esque!

So he could end up being booked for all 3 play off games (providing we get to the final)? Oh god!

Bookings have been wiped as at the 2nd Sunday in April.

BIG Mac did play at Dartford but, imo looked very pedestrian. Sometimes the big guys need a run of games to reach match fitness. Based solely on Dartford game I'd go for Chris Doig IF Shaun isnt fit

Has anyone seen the Shop limping in Tesco or anywhere else, by chance?

It's extraordinary but I've seen both John Lewis limping down an aisle in Lidl's and Gary Liddell limping down an aisle in John Lewis', but not on the same day.

If I recall correctly, Gary Liddell never moved too well at the best of times  ;)

Why would someone get a hard on in Tesco's? Maybe something to do with the meat and two veg!

Or maybe he got thrown out for having an unexpected item in the bagging area!

Not strictly true. The FA rules are:
A one-game suspension for 5 bookings by 31st December.
A two-game suspension for 10 bookings by the second Sunday in April.
A three-game suspension for 15 bookings in the season.

So there will be no more suspensions for a 10th booking, but a 15th booking would still attract a three-game ban.

How many yellows has Shaun had?

It would hurt us if Pearson missed any play-off games, but he would only have himself to blame. Still gets booked for dissent for about 2/3's of his bookings I would day. Hasn't learned.

That was what I feared  :(

Soccerbase has him as being on 14 yellows, but Saturday's programme said 12 (plus the one v Halifax) so I think he's 2 away.

And I agree with Tommy. Cracking centre back, but that needs sorting.

So what do you do with Shaun now? He one booking away from a three match ban, so so you play him and run the risk? Do you rest him Vs Hyde and possibly Braintree if we don't need a result then? Difficult one, but I'd do the latter.

Rest him for the Hyde game definitely. If we can't beat them without him, we are screwed anyway.

Yeah rest him. Doig or McDonald capable enough to slot in for a game or two.
Posted by: Garth, April 19, 2014, 9:24am; Reply: 30
Has to be rested against Hyde and then depending on what is required after the others results,  will be the decision to play him or not against Braintree

Does anyone know if he finishes the 'regular' season on 14 bookings if the slate is wiped clean for the play offs OR a booking in say the first leg of the play offs see him miss the rest of the games?
Posted by: Tommy, April 19, 2014, 10:54am; Reply: 32
I was wandering the same thing.

I'd be pretty shocked if Pearson could play 2 play-off semi finals without picking up 1 yellow card. But we couldn't leave him out and save him for the final we might not get to, that would be ridiculous.

The FA rules state the cards are valid to the last game of the season and any ban not fully served would carry over to the next season.
As the playoffs are still part of the season ( for some teams) I would think they count

I've skimmed through the FA handbook and I can't see anything which suggests the playoffs are dealt with separately - they all just count as part of the season. So yes, a booking for Shaun in a playoff semifinal 1st leg would lead to suspension for the remaining 1 or 2 games.

He has had a good season but far too many senseless bookings, he should have learned by now. If he cannot play in the playoffs (if we get there) then you have question his qualification for player of the year.
