Footballers are not heroes, Nurses, fire fighters, the military are heroes.

a person, who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.

I would class getting us out of this league with only one promotion slot an outstanding achievement.

Potentially any player who is part of the team that gets us out of this league will be remembered for decades.

At the end of the day its just a job as are your above choices . No one is forced into the Army etc unlike the poor souls of WW1 & 2 , they were HEROES in the truest sense .  My 6 year old son , however, think LJL and Disley are heroes

I think you'll find some lied to join the army for a variety of reasons in WWI and WWII.

In modern times the lines between choice and forced are blurred when you live in an area with very little, to no employment or future prospects.

Plenty of service personnel have performed heroics in modern warfare, an example is the female medic who risked her life under constant fire to save her colleagues who were seriously injured.

Heroes come in many forms and guises.

I reckon if we don't win the league but make the play off final at Wembley (?) we'll take 20,000 at least... and this time we'll
have 11 heroes seeing us thru and back into the football league....

Dizzy,,, Magnay... The Shop... Pearson..Macca and my big mate Aswad....
like Brown and Neilson too....

I know I know... over half the team... who cares...UTFM !!!!
