Have many people been on their forum since yesterday. I like them as a club but the sheer arrogance of the majority of their fans is staggering. They're talking about who they would want to keep/add WHEN they're back in the league next season.

Confidence is one thing but they're talking as if the game is already won!

Should we get a message to Paul and get him to send the lads on holiday early - there's clearly no point in us turning up on the 17th - apparently it's already a foregone conclusion!

Hopefully karma will come back to bite them on the bottom!

Got a close colleague who is a BR season ticket holder and goes home and away and despite what the appearance is they are just relieved to be there after blowing it versus Dover..............I still think the pressure is on them especially after Clarke's performance in the pub last night!

I looked at a thread called "Too much respect for Grimsby" and there is a poster called TheghostofBill Shankly who is dead funny who must be a Mariner...

Lets hope Hurst deflects all the pressure onto them. The fans need to do the same. Bristol Rovers are the favourites and the bigger club. The game is already won and there players don't need to bother turning up.

Who's this Karma ?, never seen anyone in a Town shirt with that name, could perhaps ask Luis Suarez he's got a bit of a bite on him.. ;)

I really don't think you can split the teams in terms of ability. I just hope our experience and pain will stand us in good stead.

Confidence and arrogance from the fans is nothing but a burden on players let them continue.

Bristol Rovers have only lost two of their last 40 games. They took four points out of six off us and finished five points ahead of us. Of course they are favourites. Of course the pressure is on them. That suits me just fine.

Totally agree. All the stats, the form tables etc. go out of the window. 2 teams. 90 minutes. 1 winner.

The Bristol area must be at least 5 times bigger than Grimsby, possibly 10?
They aren't a well supported team, they've been getting less than 5k fans to games this season.
Surely they should be at least a Championship side, it will look pretty pathetic if they lose to a small Town like Grimsby - The pressure is all on Bristol Rovers

Think both forums are going to be full of hyperbole from some ahead of such a huge fixture.  Lets face it as clubs we both think of the conference as a bit beneath us, we have had more time to get used to it than them and coming so close to immediate automatic return will have reinforced that feeling.  We are definately good enough to do this though and while we may be underdogs on paper I think if both teams play to their best there is going to pretty much nothing splitting us, whatever happens I hope the atmosphere stays relatively friendly as I had a really nice day out at the Memorial stadium at the start of this campaign.

I just hope the game is not ruined by bad decisions and officialism just want to see us at our best.

Does Mildenhall play for them still?

Didn't he score against Spurs back in Slade's day? Jean-Paul Kamudimba-Karma.

Yeah he does, but has been on the bench since January from what I hear

All about the passion for me.If we have 11 players who all give 100% and are willing to fight to the end we have a good chance as any of beating Bristol.

We do have passion, hard work and skill in our squad and I see no reason why we should not win the final.

Underdogs is perfectly fine with me, calling us that just lowers my nerves a bit. Let them think they are going to win it, our experiences over the past few years show that at this level nothing is guaranteed, nobody gave Newport much chance of promotion the other year

Yep.

Let them think they have won it and are the bigger club.

Couldn't give a toss it moves all the pressure on them.

Saying that this is our 3 rd consecutive go in the playoffs so that must add pressure our way too.

Surely it gives us added desire to succeed?

Cheltenham were the underdogs in Cardiff in 2006...

With Grimsby also expected to take a sizeable contingent, the game is expected to eclipse the existing Conference play-off final attendance record of 42,669 set by Oxford United and York City in 2010.

It'll easily surpass 50k.

I reckon 35k from Bristol, 20-22k from Grimsby. Lack of trains on a Sunday and the slightly earlier kick off is a pain.

The year Newport went up Kidserminster were the overwhelming favourites after going on a fantastic run of something like 19 wins in 21 games and only missing out on the title on the last day. They buckled under the pressure in the semi's.

Rovers will go in as slight favourite but we are an experienced team with a fantastic defensive unit and a whole squad that are willing to run their hearts out for 90-120 minutes for the cause. If the worst happens and we do fall short then it will be because Brisrol were the better team on the day. I just hope that we can reflect and appreciate the fantastic job Paul and Chris and the whole squad have done in getting us to this position. I pray we can keep the majority of this squad together - if we can then we would stand an excellent chance of winning the league next year.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that though.

UTM!!

One thing I can say without a hint of a doubt is that the current Town side is the best we've had in years. And it follows that this is best chance of success we've had in years.

I'd agree with that West Leeds - we just need tobe at our best and Lenny, Palmer and Arnold need to do what they did to Eastleigh!

The GET are running a story about how their player Lines thinks they are the best team in the play offs and should win it. I can't really argue with the thinking that they are the best team in the play offs based on league standings but they are setting themselves up for an almighty fall.

I'd be surprised if we take over 20k supporters.

We have enough about us to win in a one off match.  Just to who plays best on the day and handles the pressure.  Down to fine margins and hopefully a bit of luck for us.

York beat Luton 2-1, with a goal that was clearly offside.

Huddersfield went into their play-off final against Peterborough on an unbeaten run of something like 26 matches. They must have been clear favourites.  Huddersfield lost 3-0.

Who do you think they are? Are you speaking quality wise or character wise?

I feel reasonably confident now! We have a very fit Squad and the pitch at Wembley may suit us, I think rovers will run out of GAS!  ;D
