Really love to see after the news weve signed our number 1 target a massive show of force from the fans on the Season Ticket sales 531 was great last week but love to see another 1k snapped up now. I was going to wait until July but after todays news I intend to get my first Season ticket since Buckley was sacked on Friday and im putting my faith in Hurst to get it right next Season. The Club and fans have handled themselves in a way ive never seen since defeat to Bristol and to me everyone has adopted a positive roll the sleeves up attitude and this Club is only going one way UP .

The sooner the better. The sooner people see that we have shifted a lot of season tickets the more tempted they will be to get there's. If you haven't got yours yet then get down to BP in the morning and continue the positive feeling.

So gutted to have moved away from Grimsby this year, yeah my career is important but my love and passion for gtfc is getting stronger every time I hear some of this great positivity from all.

Wish I could buy a season ticket but think I will invest more to the transfer kitty 😉

Agree Steve, it would be fantastic if the fans continued to show huge faith in PH & the club by buying season tickets in increasing numbers.

Let's see us pushing 3000 season ticket holders and those that can't get to as many games as work/ finances allow

Would love to get a season ticket. But unemployed and can't afford it.  :-/

Any shop owners / store managers looking for staff? Been in and out of factory work (agency work), but also have lots of retail experience. Retail work is what I love doing (love meeting new people everyday and helping them, also not afraid of hard work - I take pride in what I do too). Agency work is just a "survival job", when I get work with them.
...Worth asking, never know who reads the fishy.  ;D  8)

But back to the subject, I have feeling we'll sell around 2,800 - 3,000... Is that too optimistic?

Give the ticket office a ring and they will check if yours is ready for collection. As soon as a new batch is delivered they are made out to the fans that have ordered them. I bought mine this morning and was told to wait for one or two weeks before ringing. Hope this helps.😐

Thinking about getting a season ticket. But, I will only be able to attend, at best, 10 of the games, so if I can't sell to a mate some of my tickets will be for sale for £15 (face value plus recorded delivery; though will probably be selling multiples at once). Will be in the Upper Findus.
Posted by: 97 (Guest), June 22, 2015, 1:33pm; Reply: 22
I doubt I'll be able to make anywhere near all the games, but thought of it as donating to the cause.
Posted by: immariner, June 22, 2015, 1:37pm; Reply: 23
I'm too skint to do that mate, unfortunately. But considering that and only managing to get to 3 home games last season, a guaranteed 23 games whether someone buys my ticket for the games I can't attend or not, will be a significant increase in my contribution. :)

Why would anyone buy for face value plus delivery when they could easy enough get one from the club?

Maths not your forte? :P

Edit: Maths not 7 other people's fortes either! :)

Because it would be £3 cheaper for them. Not everyone is flush, so if someone sits in my seat or not the club are still getting £14 per game.. But like I say, I'm only thinking about it. If there wasn't anyone likely to buy the tickets I don't use then I will probably reconsider.

Adult season tickets have actually gone down by 25% and children under 11 go free (who are included in the stats I'm sure). Works out at £6.50 a game. I wonder how many we'd sell at those prices, 4-5k would be my guess.

WE are now halfway into the six week season ticket discount period and sales are still around £100,000 up on the same period last season.

We've now sold around 1100 season tickets, equating to nearly £230,000 in sales.

There are some similarities with us and Bradford.

We are both riding high after successful (bar the penalty shootout at Wembley) seasons and had a lot of fun along the way with sell out crowds and great atmospheres. I was at the Bradford v Sunderland game and the place was sold out and absolutely rocking.

Also we both have stadiums which typically have 1000s of empty seats for regular league games. Good on them for trying their best to fill it.

IMO the club have done well to get virtually a full squad together to start the first day of pre season together. Something we havent done in the past.

The fund raising may well have helped but now it is time to ensure the ticket office are worked to a standstill processing season ticket applications.

Last report was 1100 iirc, hopefully we can double that in a very short period of time?

If you can afford to do so, and will get to a fair few games, then now is the time to show further support to our team and players by purchasing that season ticket.

Lets hope we are 'rewarded' with a championship winning season!

Due to work commitments i always pay on the day to watch town and have done on and off for 35 years. My boss has now let me work the hours that allows me to buy a season ticket so i got my first one today. The guy behind me was also buying his first ever season ticket and he had followed town for about 30 years. We were both taken into the upper findus to choose our seats.
The ticket office was busy with fans buying tickets for wednesdays friendly against Cleethorpes Town.

1400 now sold! (900 last year!)

1400 Season Tickets have now been sold for the 2015/16 Season - that's 900 up on the same time last year.

That is £100,000 up on last year’s sales at the same point and is a fantastic on-going achievement from the fans.

Historically, with the last 2 ‘biggest weeks’ of sales remaining – after brisk business (£11,000) in the 3 hours the ticket office and club shop were open this morning the totals now stand at:

Receipts - £290,000 (last year £187,000)

Number Sold – 1400 (Last year 900)

New sales included – 270 (Last year 87)

So, 500 up in numbers on last season at this point. We are still aiming for at least 2,500 total sales & half a million in takings. #Incredible.

The ticket office is now closed until Monday morning but you can still reserve your seat online.

It's quite possible that PH would have compiled two " wish lists " over the last month of the season. One for life in the League and another in view of another campaign non-league. Although you never know who will be retained by their respective clubs , it is still quite possible to do this. The way that PH signs some of these players indicates , to me anyway , that he is always planning ahead and very good at keeping his cards close to his chest.

Just collected my season tickets, plus 2 for Cleethorpes Town and 4 for Derby on Saturday.  A queue of 7 or 8.  Pretty busy.

My first ever pre-season games having only moved here recently so that's an extra £42 through the tills.

The kids don't know they are spending Saturday afternoon watching a friendly but I'm not worried so long as Mighty Mariner is in good form - the unsung hero for keeping our kids entertained on Saturday afternoons through the decades.

30k up is hardly a huge increase, dont get me wrong its a great return but the way its being portrayed you'd think it was 100k.

30k before the busiest period, so that will rise. They are expecting to sell about 400 more than last season, which is a significant percentage rise. All things are relative.

If we lose the first couple of games no doubt there will be some hardly used, one frustrated owner,  second hand ones going on e-bay  :)

Brilliant news.

2500 would be fantastic.

Not sure how much it will impact matchday gates if these new ST's are people who normally attend most games anyway, but still it's great to have people committing and putting money in the coffers early.

It's more than £30k mate. It's the money spent at games on drinks, programme etc too

It could make getting tickets for away games at some of the smaller grounds (Guiseley?) VERY interesting!! :o

By the start of the season it could well be £100,000 so it is something to be proud of.

Surely the answer is right in front of you; don't get one!  Don't be a martyr to the cause, we're all doing our best for the club, but if you can't make the home games then don't get one.

I share mine with my Bro. I say share, he doesn't pay for it, just uses it.

I use to work 3 out of 5 weekends, but still got a season ticket, even when I was working & living away.

Advantages of being able to get priority tickets a big bonus. Don't forget that all the money goes directly to the club, so it's also a way of donating to the cause.

If you can't get to a game you can always pass it on to encourage a potential new fan.

Now up to 2200 sold with the last couple of days before the Early bird period ends

http://www.grimsby-townfc.co.uk/news/article/2200-season-tickets-sold-already-2551447.aspx?

*Fraud Alert*  I raised this post and fully intended to get my ticket that week. However as it happens I have only just been today and picked it up so as a forfeit I bought a shirt as well using my £10 off voucher. Very very busy and I bet another 20 had been sold between 11.30am and 12.00pm I asked about the discount being extended but like good soldiers they said the last instruction was ends tomorrow.I have a feeling common sense allied with the current feel good factor will prevail and this offer will be extended to first Saturday in August and GTFC will hit the 3k mark in ST sales. Anyone unsure whether to get one or not just be aware of if Town get the results we expect and you don't have a ST you are going to struggle to get tickets for ALL away games. Dig deep folks plague friends and family and workmates and lets get the Promotion Charge up and running by returning Blundell Park back into a fortress.UTM
Ps What a pleasure it was getting served in both the ticket Office and the Clubshop today I always used to feel irritated at the lack of customer care and general malaise whenever I had the misfortune to visit the shop in particular.Today I felt like a valued customer rather than an open wallet long may it continue at long last GTFC seem to getting things right on and off the pitch and I think a lot of that is down to the interaction with the fans and the were all in this together attitude.WERE GOING UP!!!!!

It's not that much of a big deal but with all the optimism and anticipation of increased sales I'm surprised the club has had to be chased up by a local rag reporter for a figure, 5 days after the early bird period ended. Thought GTFC'd have made a fanfare announcement to be honest as I expect the figure to be in excess of 2500..

I thought the club announced with a couple of days to go (of the original EBP) that it was 2200 and those are "usually" the busiest days? Still a decent total if the case but the club were hopeful of getting near our previous record of 2800 at one stage.

I've definitely found the club's PR and communications have become poorer since Jack Johnson moved onto pastures new.
Posted by: ska face, July 23, 2015, 11:37pm; Reply: 109
Would agree with that.

I'm not particularly arsed about the figure, it is what it is. What I'm more interested in is keeping the information flowing from the club. It'd be a shame if, as mentioned above, early bird prices are still available and people haven't been informed!

JJ was credited with single handedly turning around the club's communication strategy and social media initiatives.

I believe he was heavily involved in the videos and the stickers too.

You must be thinking of someone else?

GRIMSBY Town have revealed that they have so far sold 2,357 season tickets ahead of the coming season.

That figure is almost 350 more than the number of season tickets issued last season, generating £447,298 worth of receipts for the club's coffers and representing a ten-year high for sales.

Accounts manager Steve Wraith told the Telegraph that he has been delighted with the response and predicted those figures will be higher still come the big kick-off on August 8.

He said: "We are currently £76,000 up on the total taken for last year and over 300 season tickets up too - an incredible achievement.
I still think that over the next few weeks, considering how the team continue to play, we will probably sell another 100 to 150 additional season tickets and the total will be around 2,500 sold and nearly half a million taken in cash."

Great news im a tad disappointed we never went over 2.5k but that's still some backing and the Club need to press this home. I would love to see the Trust get involved in some heavy dialogue with the Club regarding packing out the ground. My suggestion is to get an offer on for those first 2 back to back home games if you buy tickets for both in the Osmond stand something along the lines of 2 adult tickets for £20 and kids for a quid and lets push to get the home gates up towards 4500-5k from the off.UTM

It'll be interesting to see which team has the most season ticket holders. Tranmere have sold a similiar number as us and Wrexham have also sold over 2,000.
