I haven't seen it mentioned on here but I thought he deserves a mention. He lost his leg through illness but has over come what happened to him by humour.

I just wanted to say well done to Peg Leg Mariner for over coming his illness.  I don't know if anyone knows him but if someone does I would like you to pass on my best wishes.

'PegLeg' is a Mariners Trust board member who does a hell of a lot of the administration. He has been processing the new membership applications that he has been inundated with in recent weeks.

That's not to say he wouldn't be able to process a few more :o

I'm very proud to call him my Husband.

He lost his leg nearly 3 years ago through an infection following a diabetic ulcer in his foot.

We went from normal newly engaged couple to lives upside down in less than a week from the ulcer appearing,

Stu has maintained his humour throughout, he quite often takes the leg off when he's had a few and plays it like a guitar!

I am super proud of him :-)

Good stuff sparkles and I hope I haven't caused him any embarrassment. I must have read something from that time that is still on the net and thought it was more recent. Certainly sounds like a right character and I'm glad he's doing great. You'll have to pass on my regards sparkles.

Bear in mind when Woods was manager he would probably have had two fully functioning legs.
