I have, this afternoon, received a message from Dave Roberts of The Mariners Trust suggesting that I donate the 33% of the prize pot to Phil (Larry) Lambert's family rather than to The Trust on this one ocassion.
I want to make sure that people who have entered the competition already are happy with this arrangement though before I decide to do this. If anyone who has entered is not happy with this arrangement then I will run this competition in aid of the operation promotion fund as I originally intended to do and will then run the next one in aid of Larry's family.
Could you please let me know, if you have entered, that you are happy with this or not either by posting on here or by sending me a PM.

We have surpassed all expectations with Operation Promotion but some things are more important than football so I wouldn't be against the money going to Larry's fund at all.

Ok, a 100% response in favour from posts on here and a few PM's I have had, so for this first game of the season, I will donate the 33% that I was going to donate to the operation promotion fund, to Phil's family to help them through these difficult times.
I only know too well how a serious illness can affect your finances, so I take great pleasure in doing this.
