It's one of those good problems for the manager. It seems almost everyone is fit and firing. Didn't I read Marshall or Arnold picked up an injury?
Can't wait for Saturday now, let's hope we can get those vital three points.

Quite like your selection Twoleftfeet... I'd be tempted to go with that

I'm guessing Bogle will be fit enough for the bench at best and that Robertson and Brown probably won't even make the bench? Has anybody heard any news re how fit Marshall, Arnold and Pittman are?

I think 6 or 7 are nailed on starters (Macca, Pearson, Tait, Disley, Clay, Mackreth, Amond). I'm glad I don't have to pick!

2-5-3 wouldn't work in this division imo

Yeah but it's only that defensive when we're without the ball. It'll be a 2-3-5 when we're on the attack.

Thank god, i thought that you were merely setting up to draw!

You could always push Toto up front and go a bit more direct if you were chasing it late on.

Is it right to play him on the wing though as he lacks pace ?

Not heard anything recent on Pittman but Hurst sounded pretty concerned about his injury.

Think that was just to ensure his odds of being top scorer stay at 100/1 a bit longer.

The certainties are Macca, Tait, East, Disley, Clay, Amond. For the rest, who knows, though i think Arnold is also fairly certain if fit.

Agree with that although I would add Pearson as well.

Genuinely cannot predict more than four of the team.
Macca, Tait, Disley and Clay.
Every other position is up for grabs. Not reading anything into knocks and injuries to the likes of Pittman and Marshall. Hurst is very good at keeping his cards close to this chest and keeping people guessing.
Interesting that a fair few people think we'll go with wingbacks. For me a lot of our better play over the pre-season has come from the wide areas, I would be very reluctant to see that change. I can, however, see the logic in that it allows all three centre-backs to play. Can't select the team just because you've got an abundance of quality though. If that's the case we may need to change the rule book to allow extra players on the pitch!
At an absolute guess..........
McKeown
Tait Pearson Toto East
Mackreth Disley Clay Marshall
Amond Arnold

What's your thinking behind having Pearson on the right side of the centre back pairing and Toto on the left? They have never played this way before when in the same team.

To be fair, I think is an impossible task. I certainly wouldn't want to make the choices which PH has to. I just hope whichever lineup he settles on, does the job. I will be 100% behind him regardless of his choices. UTM

Would be my wild guess, will depend on how certain players heal from injuries this week.

I think Monkhouse will only be considered off the bench later on, he still seems to be behind others regarding fitness at the moment

Agreed, although i am more concerned by his football than fitness currently, wins everything in the air but seems to give the ball away a bit?? maybe i'm just being harsh.
Can't wait for sat.

I'd just pick names out of the hat. Can't be worse than some of the suggestions.

I can see him starting with Toto at rofht back and Tait on the left.
Clay has to start as does Arnold but let's face it, they've all proved they're worthy of a place, even the young lads...

I don't think he'll mess around too much with formation changes, I think a 4-4-2 to start
Macca
Tait Toto Pearson East
Mackreth Disley Clay Monkhouse
Amond Arnold

Really difficult to choose, esp at centre back, but I think being as Gowling was a former kiddie player he will be desperate to play and perform well in front of his old fans so I would give him the nod. So
Macca
Tait Gowling Pearson East
Mackreth Disley Clay Marshall
Amond. Arnold
Nsiala
Monkhouse
Clifton
Pittman
Bogle

No Marshall, so Clifton on the bench & Venney on the bench if Brown doesn't make it.

Assuming we have some cotton wool left this has to be it, unless Toto plays RB and Tait LB

I think Hurst will surprise us like he often does and start with Bogle.
