There's a sneak peep on the OS http://www.grimsby-townfc.co.uk/news/article/new-shirt-sneak-peek-3081791.aspx

Apparently it's white & black this year.  ;)

Looks like a Play Off/FA Trophy final winning shirt to me etc etc.

I like that design, I had similar pinstripes on the front of the bonnet of my old ford escort years ago.  ;)

I can think of much better things had on the bonnet of a car, but can't divulge as such before the water-shed... ;)

The horizontal lines look good for concealing a beer gut.

Would be great for the January loanees, who haven't played for their parent clubs during the season.  :-/

Release date before the semis?

Hoping its got a collar instead of a v neck
Posted by: Grimal, April 27, 2016, 8:16pm; Reply: 7
I personally hope that they have done away with the black panel on the back, much prefer just stripes.
Posted by: HackneyHaddock, April 27, 2016, 8:24pm; Reply: 8
I think it'd be good to go back to a red number on a white patch.
Posted by: Tommy, April 27, 2016, 9:15pm; Reply: 9
Don't think you're allowed to have numbers on stripes like we used to any more. Seem to remember it coming in that numbers have to be clearly visible now by being on a single colour background
Posted by: LH, April 27, 2016, 9:48pm; Reply: 10
Is the 02/05 the release date or the reveal?

Horizontal AND vertical stripes will appear as optical illusions on some bellies around BP.

White and black instead of the traditional black and white?!? FFS Town sort it, not happy, don't like it etc etc

:P ;)

Sunderland? West Brom?

Red numbers on white 'square' would be a cool retro twist one time agree

Is the new away shirt being unveiled too or is that reserved for another faux marketing coup?

I understand the away kit will not be blue as it has been for a few years now

Yeah just checked theirs out, fair do's. .

For some reason I thought teams had to have those square patches over stripes to then have the number on.

A little birdie has tweeted to me  white panel  black numbers. (thumbup)

Should have a purple patch on it somewhere to reflect how we're going to play through the next 4 games  ;)

I wished we'd do white shorts, a la Juventus. Maybe not our traditional colours but it's definitely a lot classier imo.

Well two of us on here want red numbers, so the manufacturer can change that pretty easily!

Ok, I'll go along with that then, three of us now, surely they can't refuse us. also I would like them to make the numbers twice the size,it's difficult for me to see them from back row upper findus Youngs  ;)

What about thermo numbers, they get darker the more the player runs around, or in Serge Makofo case fade!

I prefer black shorts as think thats more our traditional way but wouldn't be aggrieved with white for a season or two so long as not permanent. It must be bloody difficult to try and freshen up the kit year on year without being too outlandish and causing outrage.

Not too sure on the kit tbh, can't make my mind up.

First reaction is awful. It makes the players look like they have beer bellies so what is it going to do for those 50 somethings that like to buy replica shirts??

Does anybody else find this yearly shirt "reveal" utterly tedious and pointless? Seriously, who gives a shite?
Posted by: Rik e B, April 29, 2016, 9:59am; Reply: 27
I quite like it and they often grow on you after being initially underwhelmed. Considering some of the shockers in the past its not half bad.

Looks the same as the Diadora Ciba one from approx. '95 that most fans liked.,
Infact it looks fantastic! Shame you cant get a long sleeve. Agree the white collar is probably the worst bit but the stripes on the arms look good - my favourite shirt was the one in Mendoncas first season - Ribero Ciba-Geigy with the stripes on the arms. Shame you cant get a long sleeve
Ordering one anyway, first one ive had since Nike

Love the socks and the shirt looks great from the front but why such a large white space on the back? Why can't we have stripes there as well?

If I'm sat in the ponny and we're defending the goal against the world beaters that is Dover (no doubt Hursts words pre match!) it'll feel like I'm supporting Leeds!!

Still a great kit, I'll get one for the play off final WHEN we get there

I agree Perkins but what I found interesting was they done some research and they found colour does make a difference on performance.Think it was in one of the broadsheets where what was found was the colour red inspires performances more from players .Think they alluded to the Liverpool team for one and the Spanish for another

I think they should have the 4th official type digital boards on their backs, battery powered! Should see that from the upper youngs and do away with the 4th official too. They could be remote controlled so that adverts could be played, increasing revenue. They could be smart phone compatible so that we could send good will messages to the players, manager, owner and the officials.
Also could order a hot dog at halftime to be delivered to your seat.

They all look 6 months pregnant on the photos ! ;D

The rest of the shirt's OK but those horizontal stripe bits are barmy.

I think they would look pretty smart if worn with the red shorts of Ron Rafferty--Johnny Scott era in the early sixties.  Johnny Scott also looked pregnant on several occasions until he went on his famous diet but not 9 months like Gowling.

Just looked at the pic reveal....my eyes were drawn to the belly stripes....when i stared really hard i could magically see a Dolphin,       a T Rex, a Tiger emerge from the haze...

i tried again and that time it looked as though the players were just at the start of being beamed up to the Enterprise..

The shirt design is clever giving the effect of a seamless joint between shirt and shorts prefer a collar type neck looks smarter.

Sorry but in the pictures in the tellywag, I think it makes them look like they have beer guts. The lines create a shadow effect.

Don't you think that seamless joint makes it look more like a sort of sporting onsie though?

Do we have to be all trendy and different just to sell shirts? If the team is riding in an open top bus at the end of the season supporters will buy it anyway and we can look like proper Grimsby Town players and fans instead of loonies in pyjamas.

Nobody liked the old blue England shirt with the 3 lions on the shoulder circa '92 then?!
I loved that shirt. Think they only played in it a couple of times
I think were lucky to have Errea who have obviously tried their best with this one. We could have had Nike - that was the worst shirt weve had imo
