McAtee, Emmanuel & Taylor on the bench. Looks like the usual line up 3  2  3 1 1

Not too surprised with that. Thought we might opt for Smith as the 3rd centre back just to sure up the defence. JM a bit of a surprise, but I guess Hurst trusts Khan to cover more ground.

Only 1 World Cup winner in their starting line up then?

Come on Town, just don’t f*****g freeze !!

Massively disagree with leaving Hunt out, and you need to start McAtee in games like this - he's our main big game player.

Already around £1M secured for the war chest next season, job done.

Anything from now on is a bonus.

Very solid line up for back 9 and plenty of running from Orsi and Khan.  I expect Taylor and McAtee to come on shortly after half time.

It’s the ball that matters and where the contact is with the hand. If it’s beyond the line and outside the area, it’s handball.

Least it's only 1-0. I think we'll start to tire as it goes on but it's better than it looked like it might be with that early goal.

Think we've executed the plan, limiting a very good side. Wouldn't be surprised to see Taylor and McAtee come on at half time to give us more up top. Maybe I'm delusional but they've actually given us space a couple of times but our execution has been poor.

Disappointing but still in the game.

What was disappointing was Burnley, top of the Championship and probably moving up to the prem, losing 6 -0 nil and failing to score a goal. We're about 70 odd places below Brighton and go in at half time only 1-0 down.

Hmm…from those strangely limited camera angles and taking into account the Mitoma effect that did for Germany in the WC, some of the ball was still on the line.

Difficult to tell though.

It’s a bit bizarre if we’re using VAR without proper cameras in place for key decisions like that.

I agree with you Chris, let's not forget Brighton could sell one of their cheaper players, buy Grimsby and still have a few million in the bank. The difference in quality and class is tremendous, but hey ho we move on.

The second goal was the killer. Brilliant from a young player who looks likely to have a good career ahead of him. They were a bit jammy for the third.. Just a real pity we didn't manage a better go of things today.

For all the huff and puff, we've just not passed the ball well enough when we have had possession. Too often the case this season.

Our lads gave everything today. They can hold their heads up. And the reception they got at the end was incredible. Despite being disappointed, the players stayed on that pitch saluting the fans for ages at the end. Very classy from both the players and the fans.

There is a real bond between the payers, management, ownership and fans. And that is why today we may have lost a football match, but we are winners in every other respect.

We've lost to teams in the same league as us by similar scorelines, Burnley lost by more (yeah, albeit only 1) to City and they're only 1 league below. Their team was worth what, 350  x ours, I don't think it was as bad as it could have been.

Wonderful memories. So proud of our club.

Like Cloughie I believe in miracles but hand on heart, I couldn't see any scenario where we could possibly have won that game, such was the gulf in class. I predicted 6-0 so 5-0 exceeded expectations. You have to put your hands up and say well done Brighton, incredible team.

The players and fans gave it their all. I'm delighted the players got a magnificent send off from the fans at the end, which was class. You'd have thought we'd won the cup, rather than lost 5 zip but it was completely justified given the players heroics to reach an historic quarter final.

I think I had something in my eye at the end.

Special mention for all the Brighton fans on here and who we met over the weekend who were all friendly, humble and very complimentary about both of our fullbacks after the game. Class act. Hope BHA go on to win it.

Back to reality with Mansfield up next. Think we'll see a few changes from Sunday as the players looked dead on ther feet at the end.

Onwards and upwards! UTM.
