Town Caught Napping Again

LATE goals cost Town points again this season in a disappointing game. Town looked to be heading for a win after Pond put them 1-0 up with a spectacular volley. However the Hatters came back with goals from Danny Rowe and Danny Whitehead, the winner in injury time.

In a poor first half Stockport's Danny Hattersley had the best chance on 11 minutes but headed Andy Halls's cross wide of the post. Town's Pearson then caught the 'keeper napping while taking a goal kick and stole the ball from him, but was unable to get a shot on target. Cook flashed a shot wide from a Colbeck cross.

The game sparked into life when Town on-loan midfielder Nathan Pond send a spectacular volley into the top corner in the 69th minute from a free kick. The lead was just about deserved on the balance of play at that stage.

But Stockport came back into the game when Town failed to clear a ball in their box and Danny Rowe fired in a low strike from 18 yards. Then poor marking from a corner allowed Danny Whitehead the time and space to pick his spot for a late winner.
