Boreham Wood v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 04/09/2015

UNDER fire Town boss Paul Hurst needs three points at Boreham Wood on Saturday to get Town heading in the right direction again after a poor string of results. The Mariners have gone four games without a win, despite playing a string of unfancied clubs.

Grimsby have not enjoyed the best of luck in some of those games, but the constant team changes have left Hurst open to criticism and now he doesn't have a winning side to pick from - or anything like it after his five changes from the team which rescued a point at Lincoln drew a blank against Macclesfield.

Hurst has a wealth of choice to pick from as only Josh Gowling (suspended) is unavailable of the players realistically likely to start. Josh Sunter (foot) and Scott Brown (ankle) are still ruled out with their respective injuries,

The only area where Hurst has very little choice is in goal. James McKeown has made several mistakes this season and is undoubtedly a factor in Grimsby's poor results in the opening games. McKeown is the only senior professional 'keeper on Town's books so there isn't a great deal of choice if Hurst wants to drop the shot stopper, who was in hospital with illness over the summer and missed most of the pre-season training.

It's likely that Hurst will play something close to the side which has won this season, which will see Arnold and Monkhouse back on the wings, Clay and Disley in midfield and East and Robertson as full backs with Pearson and Toto between them and McKeown between the sticks.

The Mariners and Boreham Wood have never met as it is the Hertfordshire side's first season at this level. Town fans can pay on the gate.
