Grimsby v Halifax Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 13/10/2015

CONNOR Townsend has returned to Grimsby on loan from Hull three years after his last loan spell at Blundell Park. The full back will provide cover for Gregor Robertson who was forced off at Braintree with a thigh injury in the first half.

It's likely that Townsend will go straight into the side at left back. Josh Gowling (knee) was also forced off at Braintree and centre back Toto Nsiala is a straight swap for Gowling if needed.

Striker Jon-Paul Pittman remains a doubt meaning Hurst will have to select two from Amond, Bogle and Tomlinson to start the game. Midfielder Scott Brown (ankle) is back in full training but is still not ready to start games after missing all of the season and a big chunk of pre-season.

Halifax, who have had a poor start to the season, have just signed Notts County midfielder Nicky Wroe on loan. Midfielder Scott McManus is doubtful after an injury sustained during the 3-0 loss at Woking.

In other news Grimsby Town have been drawn away at Harrogate in the FA Cup.
