New Board Members

News From 31st January 2000

Mariners chairman Doug Everitt is confident of unveiling new board members this week.

It is understood that the board has already been expanded to six members, although the names of the new men have yet to be announced.

Everitt assumed control of the Mariners last month backed by Bryan Huxford, Peter Furneaux and Fred Clyburn, but required five people to effectively run the club.

The chairman said that he was close to making an announcement on new board members.

"What we are doing is looking towards other business people to come and join us and hopefully we shall be successful in those negotiations
"These will be people of substance coming along but you don't do that overnight.
"Hopefully, we will have two or three people to announce."
