Trialists Update

Grimsby Town have revealed today that Argentinian striker Franco Vottola will not be offered terms by the club. The 19-year old had been on trial with the Mariners, but it seems that Lennie Lawrence is not convinced that Vottola has got what it takes for this level of football.

The youngster has now left Cleethorpes in search of a contract with Dutch side FC Herenveen. Meanwhile, former Hull City junior, Chris Bolder, is the latest in a long line of players to arrive for a trial at Blundell Park. Bolder was released by the Tigers last season after being hampered by two serious knee injuries and is now playing college soccer in the United States. The 18-year old brother of Derby County's Adam Bolder is now back in the region over the Christmas break and has requested a chance to impress on the south bank of the Humber. Reserves coach Paul Wilkinson is reported to be impressed with the player's performance so far.
