Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

Dud's Back On Board!

Grimsby Towns leading shareholder is back in town. Dudley Ramsden is chairman of the Ramsden group and is back to be part of a dual responsibility team with Alec King (one of the most successful commerical directors ever) to help with the stadium development.

The stadium plan is in full swing and although back the 55 yeard old has stressed that he will not be as active as he used to be. The board member has been recouperating from heart surgery and now has a new view of life and also new priorities saying

"I declined a place on the board when asked orginally because I had a pre cautionary operation to repair a leaking heart valve, a defect I was born with. But I am now totally recovered,".

Mr Ramsden was first part of the Mariners in the early 80's entering the boardroom fresh faced and since then has been one of the most recognisable names on the board. Although affairs at Grimsby are not ideal at the minute the board favourite still had time to pay credit to present members of the board team commenting

"I believe that the board, prior to my co-option, was the most talented board in the club"s history with a wealth of knowledge".

Dudley explained though that he has a particular interest in the new stadium saying

"I do have a particular interest in the new stadium and that was how I was able to persuade Alec King to go onto the board".

The pair of Alec King and the Town board member have worked together before though. The father of two said -

"We built the Findus Stand between us and Alec has already been involved in three new stadium projects. He and I are already involved as chairman and vice-chairman of the stadium committee and this is a natural progression for me to join the main board as the new stadium project draws closer."

The fact the pair have worked together will no doubt work in Grimsby's favour and the two can spearhead the building of the stadium and make things just that little bit brighter for the otherwise dull goings on at Blundell Park at this present time.
