By: Jostein Jensen
Date: 10/05/2002

The Mariners have announced their pre-season tour to Scandinavia. Matches have been arranged with clubs in Sweden, where they will be based, and Denmark and Norway. The Fishy has been taking a look at the opposition and some of their star players.

Most Famous Player:

John "Faxe" Jensen - became world famous during the European Championship in Sweden in the 90's, and was later sold to Arsenal. Today Faxe is 37 years old and is player manager for the club.

The scout:

Young striker Mads Westh is a former FC Copenhagen player, and he was linked to the Mariners on trial during Lennie Lawrence's term as manager.

The club:

Formed in 1921 by some young lads during a boring evening in the little village. Today they are well known for their talents and are rated amongst the best clubs in Denmark. Surprisingly they won the Danish league in 1999/2000 for their first time, and even more surprisingly they were relegated the year after. This year they have played on the Danish second level, but it does not seem likely that they will get promoted this season.
