Fishing For Talent Part 1

By: Dr Fishy
Date: 25/07/2002

DR FISHY has been down to the river bank with his fishing equipment, and has been casting his eye over potential Town signings. In the first of a new series, he has come up with a familiar face to Town fans...

Just for fun, try the link before you scroll down:

Matt Bloomer

Matt Bloomer Player name: Matt Bloomer

Club: Ended the season on loan from Hull City to Lincoln.

Position: Centre Back

Squad Status: The PFA web site says he is available on a free, and he has not featured in recent Hull friendlies.

Background: The former Town reserve never really made the breakthrough at Blundell Park until the departure of Alan Buckley saw promotion to the first XI under Lennie Lawrence.

A casual mistake against Fulham cost Bloomer his place, and he was soon on his way out….

Ratings:

Ability: Unknown ... he’s hardly ever played!

Affordability: 10/10 ... he’s been here before, presumably on low wages, so why not again?

Viability Permanent? Depends entirely on whether Groves rates him as Division One class. The fact that he has failed to become a Division Three regular with either the Tigers or the Imps does not bode well. Would he rather sit in the Hull or Grimsby reserves??

What do you think of Dr Fishy's suggestion? Answers on the Message Board.
