Surprise Loan Swoop On The Cards!!

FORMER Mariners' hero Jack Lester, who is wanted by Coventry City in the summer, is being lined up by Town boss Paul Groves as a loan target.

Lester's contract with Nottingham Forest is up in the summer and has been out of favour in the last month.

Now with Forest signing Darren Huckerby from Man City, Lester's future at the club is uncertain meaning that Paul Hart could sanctioned Lester's move to Blundell Park on a loan.

Jack starts a three match ban this weekend for an earlier sending off but is a wanted man as clubs start to know of his availability

Groves said on this matter" "Jack is someone that we're aware of. We haven't made an enquiry, but he's a good player and I wouldn't rule anything out at the moment." "We've been looking for a midfielder but now our attentions have switched to a centre forward." Lester left the Mariners in January 2000 for £300,000 but has already missed five games due to suspentions, but with the likes of David Johnson, Marlon Harewood the on loan Huckerby and Andy Reid in front of him in the Forest pecking order, it does look like his days at the City Ground are already numbered.
