Jonny Rowan Looking Good!

GRAHAM Rodger says Grimsby Town striker John Rowan has an important role to play in the Mariners' side this season. Rodger claims that Rowan "is now showing the right sort of attitude to feature next season."

Rodger told Radio Humberside; "Johnny Rowan has come back full of beans, he's come back really sharp. He's really fit. He's found a desire and a passion that we knew he had. He had a 'funny' season last season."

"But of those coming back, for me, he's the hungriest looking one, he's taken on board a lot. He's working really hard, he's playing really well, and it bodes well for the club and for Johnny Rowan."

Former Hull City defender Mike Edwards is also in the frame with Rodger saying; "He's given a good account of himself in the two or three games we've utilised him. We had a look at him at left-back for about 20 minutes at Boston. He's not let himself down. He's a young player with quite a little bit of experience, he's had quite a few games already. He's a very fit lad and he's an option we're looking at."
