The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

A Great Day Says Fishy Bloke!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 15/02/2005

Here's another chance to enjoy a day in the Boardroom with the Grimsby Town Chairman. One of our Fishy subscribers took the Fishy's ticket offer and had a great day out at BP last Saturday.

The first half was diabolical," he said. "I thought we dominated the second half but just couldn't put the ball in the net. We were unlucky right at the end when we hit the post."

Speaking of his day in the Town boardroom saying, "It is nice to see the other side of things. Obviously 95% of the people here just come for the football - it is nice to see it from another view. It is nice to see it from the chairman's perspective, and it is nice to see what the chairman and the 280 staff do on a match day. It is quite a logistical feat," he added.

Speaking of the chairman's hospitality.

"He took us around the ground before the game and he has really treat us well. It has been a fantastic day."

"I would fully recommend it to anybody who gets the opportunity."

What do you get?

On arrival, you are greeted by the Chairman of Grimsby Town - John Fenty.

You will receive a complimentary copy of the famous Mariner Matchday Magazine, while you are treated to a glass of wine, or a cup of tea or coffee, with a pre-match snack of GTFC sandwiches.

Having made acquaintance with all of the Grimsby Town Directors and their guests - including visiting Directors - you will be invited on the Chairman's pre-match tour, taking in McMenemy's Restaurant, the Sponsor's Lounge - including seeing the Loving Cup, the Pontoon Stand, The First Aid Room, The Press Room, The PA Box, Police Control, The Dressing Room, The Physio's Room, and the Managers Office.

During the match, you'll be seated in the Directors Box in the Upper John Smith's Stand.

Afterwards, a day to live forever in the memory is completed with a Boardroom buffet, with more wine, tea or coffee. So that you can show your children and grandchildren a souvenir of the occasion, you'll receive a photograph of the day.

If there is one highest bidder, he or she will be given a car park space in the club car park.

Obviously, you'll need to dress the part, being a representative of Grimsby Town Football Club to the visiting Directors of our opponents. The Boardroom has a dress code of shirts and ties. (No-one is allowed in wearing jeans or trainers.)

This offer is now available by auction for the game against Chester City on Tuesday, 22 March.
