Signings Soon?

RUSSELL Slade is closing in on his player targets and there could be some more news very soon, according to the official site.

Slade told Mariners net that he been scouring the continent for potential talent and admitted he has been looking at some young players in France - but possibly not the two players that have been mentioned in the press recently.

"We are looking to bring in three or four more signings - sooner rather than later. We are still looking at strengthening our midfield and possibly another striker as well.

"We are looking for a midfielder that can open up defences and perhaps go past people."

He added that he was happy with the way his new players have fitted in.

"It is nice to see the new faces mixing with the old faces - they've fitted in very well. Training with Tony (Whiteman) has been a bit of a shock for some of the players. His training is perhaps more demanding, but for less periods of time."
