Town Go Second with a Record Breaking Win!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 10/09/2005

THE Mariners broke Bill Shankly's record today making it six away wins on the trot. No one was more pleased than John McDermott who played his 600th game for Town and saw them go second from top in League 2.

Gary Jones scored the goal, which brought Town the victory, but it was not easy.

It was a hard fought game with Town under pressure for long periods during the match and the last 20 minutes in particular with Peterborough doing all they could to snatch a goal.

This was a very well played match for Town who really did have to do everything they could to retain the lead.

Well done!!

Full report on here soon.
