Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

Who to sign?

New Signings Needed

IT is now going to be a big test for the strength of Graham Rodger's first team squad, not only in terms of numbers but also with the chance of picking up injuries as well it will really push them to the limit.

The game against Bristol Rovers will not only be a test of character after the dismal performance against Wrexham. We have at the least got to get a draw, then we have the Friday night home fixture against Mansfield.

I would hope that the club have signed at least a couple of new recruits to bolster the squad by then, because although I am a big supporter of giving a young lads a run out, too many in one go can have disastrous results. Also the games against Bristol and Mansfield will not be easy.

On a different subject regarding the issue of football supporters' club coaches, I am pleased that there seems to be some kind of agreement between the club and Bernard Morley. It looks like that the club are going to give Bernard a hand, and possibly have more liaison with the small committee that organises the coaches on his behalf.

To be honest do we really want a Hull Company just coming along and picking the best games out, and undercutting Bernard Morley's always fair prices for whatever game Town play in? I know that it is all supposed to be fair competition, but is there not also some kind of loyalty due somewhere along the line here. The man is a Grimsby Town Football supporters' legend at nearly eighty, if he isn't already.

I do believe that he did not go to the Boston game because he was so upset about the issue of the coaches. Well thankfully now it has been sorted out, so this is from me Bernard - the next home game is Friday night against Mansfield. Let me see you there supporting the Mighty Mariners.
