Town Draw Stags

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 18/10/2006

GRIMSBY'S reward for qualifying for the second round of the Johnstone Paint Trophy for the first time since 1998 (when they won it), is an away tie at Mansfield.

The Stags are currently above Grimsby in the league table only on goal difference and have yet to play the Mariners this season.

With no non-league teams in the competition this year and with strict rules governing the strength of sides teams are allowed to put out, the competition has a more serious feel to it than in the past couple of seasons.

The full draw is as follows:

Scunthorpe United v Port Vale
Mansfield Town v GRIMSBY TOWN
Accrington Stanley v Blackpool
Tranmere Rovers v Darlington
Oldham Athletic v Chesterfield
Chester City v Stockport County
Rochdale v Crewe Alexandra
Hartlepool United v Doncaster Rovers
Shrewsbury Town v Yeovil Town
Cheltenham Town v Barnet
Peterborough United v Swansea City
Wycombe Wanderers v Bristol Rovers
Leyton Orient v Bristol City
Brighton & Hove Albion v Milton Keynes Dons
Millwall v AFC Bournemouth
Nottingham Forest v Brentford

The fixtures will be played on 31st Oct or 1st Nov.
