Beat the Bookies: Week 31

LAST weekend Beat the Bookies made a small profit when Darlington beat Torquay, but sadly the winnings were offset by a loss when the Mariners failed to beat Macclesfield!

This weekend Grimsby face Bury at home having finally lost a game following four straight wins. Without Paterson though Town are not the same side (something the bookies do not realise), and I'd normally go for 3/1 for Bury to win at Blundell Park. However, Bury's recent form is so abysmal I don't fancy them to win either, which means it will probably be a draw!
Elsewhere in League Two Barnet face Wrexham at home. Wrexham seem to have improved since Kenny Jacket was sacked two games ago, although results haven't gone their way yet. They were unfortunate to lose at Blundell Park two weeks ago. However Barnet's form has slumped in recent weeks (a 1-0 over Swindon notwithstanding) and are beatable at Underhill, especially occupying a comfortable midtable position as the Londoners do. Wrexham by contrast are desperate for points, and could well get all three from their trip to the capital, which can be backed at 10/3.
In-form Shrewsbury take on Bristol Rovers on Friday night in a battle of the fringe play-off teams. However Rovers will be buoyed by their victory over neighbours Bristol City in the Johnstone Paint Southern final, and have what it takes to repeat last month's victory at Gay Meadow in the Johnstone Paint, which can be backed at 11/4.
