Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

It's Compass For Another Year

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 04/06/2008

COMPASS FM will continue to broadcast Town's games next season both on the radio and the Internet. The Grimsby-based broadcaster, who took over from BBC Radio Humberside last season, will continue to offer free commentary on away games for those in the NE Lincs area.

Mariners Net subscribers will continue to benefit from commentary to both home and away games, with some improvements next season on the offering served up last campaign. The 96.4 FM signal comes from a low-powered transmitter at Bevan Flats in East Marsh, Grimsby.

Town chairman John Fenty explained to Mariners Net: "After the first season we are now looking to take the partnership forward. We have been taking on board some of the comments that we have received from our supporters and we will be offering an improved service for the forthcoming season."

Compass FM's sister station Lincs FM will also broadcast regular news and interviews with the Mariners throughout the week, extending the coverage area beyond that of Compass FM.

Grim Rob Says: The Compass broadcasts steadily improved last season, and although they haven't yet reached the quality of the former Humberside product, after another year of experience they may get there.
