Llewellyn Latest to Leave

CHRIS Llewellyn is the latest player to leave the Mariners after a disappointing time at Blundell Park. Despite Llewllyn having a year left on his contract, he has been allowed to join Welsh Premier League side Neath.

There were high hopes when the former Norwich winger joined last summer, but the Welshman never settled in the side, and the majority of his appearances were as a substitute.

  • In other news Grimsby's relegation rivals Chester City have gone into administration, meaning they will incur a 10-points penalty whatever division they are in next season. This depends upon a) whether Darlington go bust, and b) whether they are accepted into the Blue Square Premier League. Two years ago Boston had to incur a double relegation after bring relegated into the Conference due to the fact that they had gone into administration in the summer.

  • Torquay United will definitely be in League Two next season after beating Cambridge in the play-off final this afternoon. The Gulls won 2-0 with former Mariner Chris Hargreaves scoring the opener.
