Grimsby v Mansfield Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 31/12/2010

WITH the Blundell Park permafrost now melted, the New Year's Day match with Mansfield looks a certainty to go ahead and the Mariners have a fully fit squad to choose from after over a month without football.

Mansfield did play on Tuesday, they beat Cambridge emphatically 5-1 away, so the Mariners can expect a tough game against a team who have had their ups and downs in December. At one stage they were locked out of their own ground, but since then things have become more settled off the field, and they have won their last two games 5-0 and 5-1.

The Stags are boosted by the availability of Steve Foster and Steven Istead after suspension, although top scorer Paul Connor (calf) is still missing. Alan Marriott (pubic bone) and Kyle Nix (ankle ligaments) are long term absentees.
