Buxton v Grimsby Team News

GRIMSBY have to play at extra game in their schedule that not many people would have anticipated when they take on Buxton in the FA Trophy First Round Replay tonight.

Town were expected to overpower the so-called minnows in the game at Blundell Park on Saturday, but it wasn't the case, and Grimsby survived some late scares to scrape a draw in a game they were expected to win.

Although Grimsby's main focus has to be the league and securing promotion, the FA Trophy is still important financially and has the carrot of a Wembley final at the end of it. Consequently Grimsby played a near full strength side on Saturday, and they'll probably do so again for the Wednesday night replay.

One option available for Town is centre back Nathan Pond, who was suspended for the match at Blundell Park. Winger Joe Colbeck is also nearing fitness after a knee injury and may feature.

With a number of upsets already in the First Round, Town will have to be at their best to avoid becoming another scalp.
