Beat the Bookies: Week 24

LAST week was a very successful haul with four winners, three of which were long odds! Barnet's win at Rotherham was pick of the bunch, followed by Wendy's shock triumph at Hull. And don't forget Bradford's demise to Oxford.

No Town game this weekend, and few games outside of the top flight probably so this week we're going to concentrate on the Premier League.

Premier League

  • Wigan v Sunderland - away win (3.88, Pinnacle). Wigan have won just one of their last nine Premier League games, and recently improved Sunderland have won 3 out of 4 against Wigan in the Premier League, so the odds of an away win look fairly generous.
  • West Brom v Aston Villa (5.5, Marathon). WBA are having a better season than neighbours Villa, but they haven't won for ages. Neither have Villa but they were very unlucky to lose to Southampton last week, so are probably better than the odds suggest - especially in a local derby.
  • Liverpool v Norwich - away win (11.0, Marathon). You'd naturally assume looking at this fixture that a home win would be overwhelmingly likely. But then look at the league table. Liverpool have 31 pts and Norwich have 26 pts - in other words there's not that big a gap. So this price looks a bargain!
