THE GTFC Supporters Trust will have a place on the board next season, it has been agreed, to give a voice for fans of the club. The Trust already a major shareholder, thanks to a gift of his holding by former director Mike Parker.

However now they can go one step further and have a direct say in running the club.

A statement from the organisation reads: "We are delighted to confirm that the appointment of a Supporter Director on the board of Grimsby Town FC has been ratified and a protocol agreement has been signed by both parties. We will be in a position to announce further details following our next meeting with the club which will be in 2/3 weeks time

Meanwhile the Mariners are looking to start next season with a much smaller squad of just 18 players, meaning nearly everyone will be involved in a matchday squad of 16. In practice though the squad is likely to be supplemented by loan players to cover for injuries and suspensions. Last season ended the season with a squad of 25 players, several of whom were on loan.
