Sir Paul Hurst

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 03/04/2015

PAUL Hurst has been named the Conference Manager of the Month for March after Town's impressive run which saw Grimsby draw within a point of the summit after winning all but one game.

On the announcement of the award the Town boss said, "I'm delighted to receive the award as usual. It's on the back of the players putting in a great run at a crucial time of the season.

"The fact that we've picked up as many points is going to make these last few games interesting. The fans have played a big part in this run also, with the support that they've given us. Fingers crossed that we can have a good finish to the season."

The official award panel, who gave the award, said, "With the season drawing to a very exciting climax, Town carry the momentum, which could be the all-important factor in the race for automatic promotion. No one will want to meet Paul Hurst's squad in the season run-in. Having taken his club to the Play Offs last season he is well positioned to make the next step and take Grimsby back into the Football League, and seal his spot in Mariners folklore."

It is the second time this season that Hurst has won the award. He also picked it up after Town's great run in October.
