Date: 01/07/2015

STRIKER Padraig Amond has joined the Mariners in a one-year deal. The 27-year-old was released by League Two outfit Morecambe at the end of last season. The Irishman, who can also play on the wing, scored 16 goals in 68 appearances for the Shrimps after joining from Accrington Stanley.

Amond has also had spells in Portugal, as well as his native Ireland, where he was a Youth Team player with Shamrock Rovers.

Amond is the sixth new signing of the summer so far, following in the footsteps of Richard Tait, Marcus Marshall, Andy Monkhouse, Danny East and Omar Bogle.

The new team have now started pre-season training, and the fixture list is announced on Friday.
