-- What Our Adversaries Think! --

The Mariners have managed to put together some fair performances over the last few games, but on most part come away with nothing. The lads need to dig deep and pocket a few more points, especially on their travels as their home results don't look too good.
Town's visitors, last Tuesday night did not deserve to take all the bounty with Steve Livingstone passing up a sitter before Ricketts scored. The Bolton manager, Sam Allardyce, launched Ricketts into the fray at the expense of Dean Holdsworth in the 54th minute of the match. Then, once again, inspirational introduction of Rickett's injected pace and strength for the Trotters which instantly worried Grimsby. Ricketts broke past the Grimsby rear-guard in the 71st minute and latched onto a Per Frandsen through-ball and fleeted the ball over 'keeper Danny Coyne to make it three goals in four days. It took the wind out of the Mariner's sails when the Trotters scored however, who had been outplayed for the bulk of the match.

Burnley have started the season reasonably well with two wins, two loses and two draws placing them in a respectable mid-table position.
Returning home to Turf Moor after a ding dong down at Craven Cottage the Clarets hope to get back to winning ways against a struggling Grimsby Town side. The game at Fulham ending 3-1 in defeat for the visitors and leaving a bitter taste in the mouth for Kevin Ball over the performance of referee Trevor Parkes.
French midfielder Fabrice Fernandes could have been sent off for elbowing Andy Cooke. But Parkes and his assistants seemed unsure of what had taken place.
Goldbaek belted in a great free-kick to level the scores, after Burnley had put themselves in the driving seat. Fernandes released Louis Saha to fire home with a class finish from a tight angle on 63 minutes. Lee Briscoe was then sent off for a second bookable offence and to add insult to injury, Fulham capitalised from the dead ball with Saha heading in from close range.
Burnley's performance at Craven Cottage, even though losing 3-1, showed they are more than capable of holding their own.
