Bradley Allen faces a battle against the clock in order to recover from damaged ankle ligaments in time for Saturday's home match against Birmingham City. Speaking of Allen's chances of making the Mariners starting line-up on Saturday, Grimsby manager Lennie Lawrence said:

"Bradley can't be rated any better than 50/50 at this stage but there's still a few days to go, so I'm hoping that he improves in time for him to play against Birmingham".

Raven's Wings Are Clipped

Paul Raven faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after being stretchered off during the Mariners 4-0 reverse against Watford on Saturday. Raven, who has just returned from an injury to the same knee, has sustained ligament damage and is expected to be on the sidelines for at least a month.
