Question of the Week

Who will go down?

Fossi Deal Off!

By: Jostein Jensen
Date: 05/01/2001

Knut Anders Fostervold will now probably become Molde FC's first choice left back for the coming season as the transfer negotiations with Grimsby Town have broken down said Molde FC Coach Gunder Bengtsson.

Molde FC Director of Sport Bjørner Oshaug said that a report in the Fotball 247 website that Grimsby had put in an offer for Fostervold, which Molde had rejected as the offer was too low, was not correct. He further stated "The loan contract stipulated that Molde should have got an offer for Fostervold before December 24 but Grimsby asked for another week and got that. But we got no answer by January 2nd and I called manager Lennie Lawrence myself" "The Grimsby manager then promised to fax an offer to me by last Wednesday. But that has not arrived to date. Enough is enough. We have stretched far enough in this case, and I honestly think Grimsby are not serious" "This is not an issue any longer, and Knut Anders will return as a Molde FC player as from February 20th" Knut Anders Fostervold, was in the dressing room at a training session when he got to know the result of the latest moves. "I still hope for a solution, he said, but I have been aware all the time that Grimsby is a poor club that mainly use their money on running the club. They can only afford cheap or players on free transfers. Grimsby does not have any rich uncles" "What is important to me is that Grimsby would like to keep me but are unable to do so because of economical reasons."
