Livvo Signs!

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 07/02/2001

Lennie Lawrence announced today that Steve Livingstone has signed a new two year contract with Town. This is good news for Lennie and supporters as "Livvo" is one of the fans' favourite and a hard working team player who has always committed himself in whatever position he has been played in.

Talking to the Mariners net, Grimsby manager Lawrence said "Steve has been a great servant to the club and I am happy with the way talks went and that he has been happy to sign a new two year contract."

Talks with other players regarding their contracts are going on but there is now some concern amongst the fans over the position of Willems whose transfer fee has been agreed and is well within Town's reach. Lawrence had stated previously that the personal terms he was asking for "were not over the top." If that was the case then, what is holding up the signing of a player who has fitted in well at Blundell Park and performed well for the Mariners?
