Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

Lawrence Eyes Norwegian Duo

GRIMSBY TOWN manager Lennie Lawrence has revealed he has been monitoring the Norwegians Bard Borgersen and Alexander Aas. Borgersen, who recently broke into the Norway national team, has been winning rave reviews for his performances at centre half this season and has attracted Milwall's attentions.

Lawrence in an exclusive interview with www.planetfootball.com said that the man dubbed 'Psycho' by Norwegian fans due to his never-say-die attitude is currently on his shopping list.

"We've looked at him, but there's nothing planned at the moment," he revealed.

Aas, noted throughout Scandinavia for his deadly long-throws, is also a target for The Mariners, although Lawrence admitted that the £1 million price-tag which he was quoted puts the Norwegian out of his price range.

"With the injury to John McDermott my priority is to bring in a right back," said the Town boss.

"I've looked at Aas, but I was told that they wanted £1 million for him. There's not much I can do when you're talking money like that.

"...I was going to go to Norway on Sunday..."

"I was going to go to Norway on Sunday, but at that price there's no point."

However, it may be possible that Grimsby are able to negotiate a loan deal with Odd/Grenland as the Norwegian season is currently drawing to a close.

Lawrence also admitted that he would be interested to have a look at Aas during a trial spell before making any commitment although he expressed doubts whether the Norwegian outfit would agree to such a request.
